What impressed me about their undefeated season was their seven one-goal wins, four of which were in sectional and tourney. Very resilient. Feel free to share your memories. Happy gobble gobble!

They still got lucky when Tom Follmer scored with 61 seconds remaining in the Section 3 semifinals (a 5-4 victory) against the Mike Orn led Stillwater Ponies.

No luck there, it was talent and depth. The third line often came through with crucial goals late in the game.

I see they snuck by North St. Paul in the section finals (9-2) after losing to very good NSP teams the previous two years to end Hill's season.

I agree the Stillwater win was more a result of depth and talent than luck, although any team that wins a championship, especially with a perfect record, is going to have some luck. I would say the "83 HM team's luck came in Rochester when the rallied from a 7-2 deficit in the second period and a 7-3 deficit at the start of the third to beat John Marshall 8-7 in OT.
