wow, talk about the comeback kids... lol
First they score what? 2 goals in 3 minutes to barely get past a team thats not even top 50, then do the same thing to a top 5 elite team... Should be an interesting season

Great game in front of a nice crowd at the Heritage Center. Both teams traded goals in an otherwise uneventful first period. Wayzata dominated the first half of the second but East turned things around with a strong PP and had the better chances later in the period. Wayzata scored near the end of the period to take the lead, and the third period was pretty even before East's third line managed to generate some good pressure and popped in the tying goal with 2:45ish to go. The game winner came on a beauty of a passing sequence by the Altmann brothers. Big win for the Hounds; one that was only marred by an ugly check on Phil Beaulieu with about 20 seconds to go. He played out the remainder of the game, but was in obvious pain, so we'll see if he's back in the lineup on Tuesday against Anoka.
Rumor had it Dean Blais was in attendance, as was Derek Plante. And, also a few forum members...nice to put some faces to a few usernames.
Meanwhile, some there are surprise scores trickling in:
St. Cloud Apollo 5, Duluth Marshall 2
Lakeville North 5, Burnsville 2
Would love to hear more about those ones, and other games going on tonight. Lots of stuff to keep me busy ahead of ranking day tomorrow...

Owatonna 24
Brained 0
We may not do much in hockey but a 3-0 record for section 1 at the Prep Bowl is pretty darn good.

Rumor is Blais was there to offer Beaulieu a scholarship. He definitely isn't the first, but might be the biggest name so far.

Rapids 2, Forest Lake 1. Rapida showed improvement and cut down on penalties. Two ppg by Rapids and a shg by Forest Lake. Both goalies were outstanding. Rapids gave up way too many odd man rushes. A better team would have made Rapids pay. Final shots on goal were 40-39 Rapids.

One game at a time... long way till February.

Hockey Hub summary Saturday night showed White Bear winning 3-2 in O.T., and today it shows the Bears winning 5-4 in overtime.

Guess we can't always depend on Hockey Hub.

We were scoring the game using their new iPad app and for whatever reason four of the game's goals didn't post even though the app said they did. We aren't going to be using that app anymore, at least for now.
Sorry for the confusion everyone! It was one heck of a game though!

Found out that only the UNO coach was there, not the UND, and he wasn't there for Beaulieu.
