How does Minnesota make up rules about no cameras and no phones in the lockeroom but alot of the team pictures of Squirt teams in District 3 are in the lockerooms. Conflict of interest? Why do we have these rules if their not enforced? I know some won't like this observation but it's all facts. I have guys I know that play for the Gophers and it is not allowed their.

Perhaps reason and judgement are being used. They are squirts, so alot of parents are in the lockerroom and as long as the pics are not crossing any lines I think it's ok at that age with ample/multiple parental supervision. Let's use some common sense people

Did something inappropriate happen? If so, go talk to your association. The general rule is in place for the obvious issues that may/could occur. Pretts sure noone has a problem with team pics for the scrap book or whatever so long as more than 1 adult is in room. [/i]

It was mentioned that there are a lot of parents in the locker room. Why are there parents in the locker room? Is this just after some kind of game or tournament or something or are these parents in the locker room for no particular reason other than to offer "advice" before their athlete goes out onto the ice? By the squirt age, girls and boys, the players and a coach should be the only ones in the locker room. Parents need to stay in the lobby.

I'm guessing you'd notice many differences between the Gophers lockerroom and what you'd see for Farmington Squirts. A little common-sense goes a long way.

Actually no one said there were "alot of parents in the lockerroom".... that said before games some squirts still need some help tying skates, especially first years who on the younger side. After games many parents come in a squirt lockerroom because if they don't their player will be in there forever and they need to get them moving, perhaps to get to big (or little) brothers/sisters game etc.... get off your high horse they are 8 not 18

Here's some "information..." At least on the girls side a mom or adult female must be in the locker room at all times when there are any girls in there. Thru 14u. No phones at all allowed and locker room attendants must have background checks and register with USA hockey.
At least the second year of this.

From USA Hockey Safe Sport Handbook:

Cell phones and other mobile devices with recording capabilities, which includes voice recording, still cameras and video cameras, increase the risk for some forms of abuse or misconduct. As a result, the use of a mobile device's recording capabilities in the locker rooms is not permitted at any USA hockey sanctioned event, provided that it may be acceptable to take photographs or recordings in a locker room in such unique circumstances as a victory celebration team party, etc. where all persons in the locker room are appropriately dressed and have been advised that photographs or recordings are being taken..

Haven't seen the pictures but if all the kids are appropriately dressed and smiling at the camera, would appear they are aware photos are being taken and no rules were broken or require enforcement.

Locker room photos should not be allowd. Posting last names on websites should not be allowed unless they are 14+.
