WBL/Cretin Outside

Important game for conference standings. I'd say it is a toss up. I hope the uncontroled outdoor emviroment does not effect the game. In this case, with 2 evenly matched teams, maybe not, but usually bad ice etc. brings the better teams down to the weaker teams level.

Ice should be good. Predicted temps under 32, and (unlike the failed HDM attempt on Lake Minnetonka) the sheet is refrigerated.
If you really wanted to worry about playing conditions for an outdoor game, check out what's planned for Dodger Stadium two weeks from now:

Seems like the "uncontrolled outdoor environment" and "usually bad ice" would be equal for both teams. Just saying...

Bad or slow ice is a greater detriment to the faster team.

Wonder if these teams would prefer this game be played indoors. Huge for WBL with a win putting them in the driver seat in the Suburban East. If they beat HM later this year they get the #1 seed in the section which makes the road a bit tougher for HM. A CDH win on the other hand gives them the edge in the conference and positions them for the #1 seed over STAA in section 3. The head to head match-up between these two likely determines who gets #1 or 2 or possibly 3.

These are all good reasons playing conference games outside, at least if there are championship implications. I would quibble about whether or not it matters if WBL and HM are 1-2 or 2-1. There will be little if any difference between the 3 & 4 seeds. It's also not difficult to imagine a scenario where Hill loses to WBL on Thursday and is still the #1 seed.
