If you are a White Bear fan, thing that should make you feel the best about this game is they scored 4 goals and Wahlin only had a point in 1 of them.greenway1969 wrote:White Bear 4, Rapids 1. Shots were 38 - 12 White Bear. Rapids has some major issues. They have no ability to get the puck out of their end and were consistently beaten to the puck . Power play needs major work. Puck is just passed around the perimeter. White Bear had more shots than Rapids during Rapids' power play. If it wasn't for Shepherd the game would have been in running time. Can't see how they will compete with Elk River or East.
Very wrong. WBL is a very good team, lots of respect for them. In the same token, being skeptical of Rapids effort in no way has anything to do with being "bitter" towards WBL. That is really a ridiculous take.inthetwine wrote:Sounds like some bitter Rapids fans. But maybe WBL is finnally playing up to their potential.
I didn't mean bitter towards WBL, I just meant bitter for the loss.TheHockeyDJ wrote:Very wrong. WBL is a very good team, lots of respect for them. Still, I don't think bitter is the correct term, at least not for me. I'm still optimistic about the playoffs for this team, I just wonder why they didn't play with more urgency in this game. They have games vs. Moorhead and Hermantown that will serve as a gauge for them going into sections.inthetwine wrote:I didn't mean bitter towards WBL, I just meant bitter for the loss.TheHockeyDJ wrote:Very wrong. You're probably right. I 've only seen Rapids play at the Edina tourney., but there was a real lack of intensity even back then.TheHockeyDJ wrote:Still, I don't think bitter is the correct term, at least not for me. Or maybe if you were there you would have seen that White Bear Lake outplayed Grand Rapids in nearly every facet. Yeah the Bears got a break on the 2nd goal, but it is still 3-1 without that goal. The Thunderhawks were simply outworked by White Bear Lake and the Bears were clearly the better team.TheHockeyDJ wrote:I watched back some of the game and honestly I think these are two evenly matched teams and WBL had some good breaks. The shot count was way off according to the KOZY announcer, if it's the same guy from when I lived there I'm not surprised, he just watches a lot. The Peterson goal was a snipe shot that was D1 caliber. Real bad break on the 2nd goal for WBL where the ref got in the way of the Rapids defensemen and allowed a short breakaway for WBL. I watch college hockey every weekend and see scores of 4-1 one night, then 3-0 or 5-2 the next for the other team. WBL has some kids with skill and I hope they are able to upset Hill in the section finals.
Did you not see my post above? Quit generalizing about Rapids fans.Coldzone wrote:Why is it when Rapids beats a team it's because they are far superior but when they get beat its always the shots were not correct, the refs somehow cost them, or a few bad breaks were the dif. So by this logic my beloved Broncos were really screwed by the reffing in rapids and had they not have that puck go off the refs skate directly to Peterson for a breakaway early the game would have been different. Why can't Rapids fans ever just come out and say "hey we got beat by a team that out played us today". It does happen. Wow the arrogance.
They were the better team on this afternoon. Not sure where you get "arrogance" from. I think I gave kudos to WBL. If you think one game proves they are always better on every night, well then I agree to disagree.ZachHalverson wrote:Or maybe if you were there you would have seen that White Bear Lake outplayed Grand Rapids in nearly every facet.
