HockeyHub shows Kennedy over Jefferson 2-1.
When is the last time that happened?
If true might give them inside track to a top 3 seed in 2A.
It's True

That 98 Kennedy team was actually loaded.
Before that I'm guessing late 80's.

The 98 Kennedy team definitely didn't beat 98 jags as 98 jags too 3 rd in state and only lost 2 games, maybe 3 that year...(1 of which was to eventual champion East in state semis in OT)...
97 Kennedy had Doug Meyer (who was a jr that yr) but left his sr year to play in Ann Arbor...
Think u may be confused on This one...

Kennedy's last win over Jefferson was 2/5/00 by a 4-3 score.
In 97-98, Jefferson lost just two games during the regular season, both one goal losses to Rosemount and Elk River.

The last Kennedy victory prior to '00 was probably in '91, when Kennedy beat Jefferson in a section final to advance to the last one-class state tourney. That was the year before Jefferson's dynasty took hold, and when Kennedy began to fall off, largely for socioeconomic reasons.

Prior to the win in 2000, the last win for Kennedy came in the 1991-92 season.
Kennedy won the first game of that season against Jefferson but I don't recall if that was in the year 1991 or 1992.
Jefferson would beat Kennedy in the regular season rematch and again in the section final at the Met Center.

Thanks for the info. And that was the beginning of the Jags 3 straight. What a run.

No problem. I believe Kennedy has 3 wins against Jefferson from 1991-92 season to 2013-14 season.
Prior to that I think Kennedy had won at seven in row from 1990 to 1992. 3 wins in 1990, 3 in 1991 and 1 in 1992. But I could be mistaken.

Wow. And I would assume quite a few in the mid 80s as well with Kennedys state champ team in 87.

That used to be one of the best rivalries in the state in its heyday. Even though Jefferson dominated the rivalry starting in the early 90's, BIG would be rocking during the games between Kennedy and Jefferson as far back as I can remember (mid 80's) to the early 2000's. In the 80's and early 90's it was the best rivalry in the state, in my opinion.
