Lakeville North 4
Eagan 3

Shots 46-22 Lakeville
PP 7-2 Lakeville

Eagan scored twice in last 2 minutes, and then saw the game tying goal waved off with 13 seconds left.

I'm almostapoplectic.

Why was the goal waved off?

That's an excellent question.

Puck was sitting by near post. Jensen pokes it underneath goalie's blocker. Ref waves it off, but doesn't indicate crease violation. Net didn't come off, and ref didn't pretend to "adjust" it afterwords. Best I could tell he thought that the goalie had it covered (although there was no whistle). But then the ensuing face off was outside of the zone, so that doesn't fit either.

Eagan coach seemed to be OK with the wave off but was upset about the face off outside the zone.

Maybe because the wave off explanation should have resulted in a face-off inside the zone?

Very frustrating game to watch. Looked like we were playing the Azzurri this afternoon.

How did Jensen manage to become varsity eligible last year anyways?

Not that it has anything to do with today's game, but....

Family lived in St. Paul when he was at STA. Family bought a house in Eagan and moved there. And lived there. Still live there. In the Eagan High School collection area. Totally legit.

Like I'm sure that all of the Lakeville South/farmington kids that are now playing for Lakeville North are legit.
