As evidence I spend too much time in my car, I was thinking of High School Hockey, (which could likely get me committed by itself) and I thought of poor TRF. Have you heard of teams saying things like "The stars just aligned for us?" I think the "stars" have in in for TRF's this year. After a slow start they again proved to be a very good team. Just this year (again) the wrong team at the wrong place.

For TRF's unlikely run to a state title here is all they would likely have to do. A first round sectional win over a team like Crookston, a team that has played good teams well but doesn't seem to beat any. TRF would be favored. At that point the fun stops. Section 8 semifinals. They face #3 Warroad, a team they recently beat. A win would get them a likely matchup with #1 EGF. For this scenario to continue they would beat EGF. They would then be seeded at State likely #4 or #5 and draw Totino-Grace Ranked #8 in state. Another win and with no upsets they would face most likely Breck, and a win in that game would likely mean a matchup with Hermantown.

When people think that seeding isn't that important, it would likely require TRF's to beat literally all the top teams in class A in five games to win State. If they do that, that could be the greatest accomplishment I've ever heard of. Here's to you TRF, I'm rooting for you. I don't think it can happen, but it would be fun. That's why I like tournament time. Too much time in my car, Maybe I should put the radio on tomorrow. :D

Not much difference in Warroad, Roseau, TRF, EGF and Bemidji youth programs.
