In no specific order I think Barriball, Mattson, Fulton, Indo (Indereiden), Hoeffel, Schroeder, Fischer, Miller from Wayzata, McDunough and Hickey from Cretin.

Yes, I do think he is in the top 10 players in state. Look what he did in elite league. I believe he was the second leading scorer on his team and I also believe that his team won elite league. He was the youngest player to ever play elite league. Also if Schroeder were not to leave High School, I believe along with, many others that he could possibly break Johnny Pohl's scoring record. And before you flip out I am not saying that he is necessarily better than Pohl, but he could break the record. Just because he is young does not mean that he is not good. Watch him play a fuill season and tell me what you think.

I'd say Levine should make it in the Top 10 hes a great player and led elite league in points almost the whole year

What about Chris Student. What an excellent d-man or do we only label great players as those who play forward.

I believe that would be David Fischer from Apple Valley, who has signed with the Gophers.

Fischer?

Fischer and Medvec? I don't think they were the best defensemen on the ice in Grand Rapids. In the 1-0 AV win I thought Joe Stejskal was the best defenseman. The kid can flat out play the game. He is only a junior, but I think he is a top 3 defensive player in the state. He has the size, the speed, the strength, the shot, and the brains...Top 3 no doubt.

Was the Stejskal kid in the elite league this fall? Elite II? If he is a "a top 3 defensive player in the state" then he should have been -- unless he played a fall sport.

Just curious.

I don't believe Stejskal played Elite II. He is in some sort of Fall Tennis League with tournaments most every weekend.

I dont see how any of you could say Jordan Schroeder isnt a top 10player in the state. The kid scored more points last year as an 8th grader, than most kids did that went on to play division 3 college hockey. Several players on hill murray last year said when they played UST, schroeder would skate all over them. And Hill had several highly skilled players. the kid is barely 5'6" and he dominates guys 4 years older than him. Youngest kid in the elite league and still one of the top producers on his team full of possible D1 prospects? ARE U KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW. not a top 10,... play against the kid and you will feel intensely stupid for he will make u feel bad about yourself that god gave him such skill.

schroeder

schroeder may be one hell of a player for his age but that does not place him in the top ten yet ... hes too small and hasnt grown enough yet ... example ... last year in the 3 games i saw him play in happened to be against north st paul twice and in the state tourny ... during the north st paul games north did nothing but take the body making schroeder a non threat on the ice.. once he touched the puck he was blasted off it as soon as he touched it end result schroeder had no points in the two games and was a non factor ... north st paul beat the cadets both times last year ... in the tourny he played very well ... wasnt forcfully removed off the puck at all that i can remember and was skating circles around the opposing team... i guess what im trying to make my point to is that hes not grown enough yet to be compared to the gruns and barriballs yet ... give him some time and he will deffinatly become mr hockey canidate if not mr hockey himself

Couldn't agree more with CligeHockey. Kid will develop nicely but needs more time and size. Against solid defensemen at St. Cloud's Adv 15, he was consistantly neutralized. Not Top 10 yet...but will be.

what????

Hey there Fandangle....I am just curious as to where you got your sources from when you said that the Hill players from last year said that Shroeder(sp) would skate all over them. I played in both games, and he hardly skated around anyone...maybe the refs.....It takes more than one 9th grader to win some games. Where is he gonna get his help from this year? Oh wait, you are probably going to say that he will dangle around 5 guys each shift, then deek out the goalie and score.....nice try....

Everyone forgets about Canzanello just because he is in section 1AA. He may not be top 2 or 3, but most certainly top5 if not top10.

Schroeder

Everyone keeps bringing up Schroeder last year. He developed a lot last year as the year went on. Sure he might have more trouble scoring when people play physical, but who doesn't. He is a lot better this year than he was last year. Watch him play a couple games and I think that a lot of people might consider him to be in the top 10 players in state.

schroeder

Schroeder is not top 10. He's a nice little player with good hands and who knows how to dangle in open ice and score. Reminds me of Wentland with Tri-City. He will be a real good Div. 3 player.
