Prior Lake beat Lakeville North 1-0 last night at Prior Lake. There will most certainly be a new #1 team this last week heading into sections!! Wyazata? Edina? Hill Murray? Should be an awfully fun next few weeks!!!

Losing 1-0 to a decent Prior Lake team doesn't automatically drop North from the top spot...the reality is that there's 5 or 6 teams in the TOP TIER..you can rank them anyway you want, it really doesn't matter they're all in the same league...

It will, done deal.

LN isn't trending in the right direction to end the season. With that said, their last 3 games weren't cake walks and they went 2-1 with a one goal loss. I expect them to get through sections and I think if everyone else holds serve the seeding would look something like:

1. Edina
2. LN
3. HM
4. Wayzata
5. Blaine

That's if the top ranked teams all make it. That likely won't happen and I see at least one upset, maybe two, to the above teams. It might be Burnsville over Edina, WB over Hill, or EP over Wayzata. LN still has a strong argument for that top seed at state should they make it, especially with any upsets.

Might be a stretch to call a 10-12-1 team "very very good." Let's call the lakers "good," with an option to add a very or two if they beat Eastview tomorrow night.

Prior Lake is a good team at best that has underachieved most of the year IMO. Got swept out of the Schwans gold division losing all 3 games by 3 goals each. Also had a more recent string losing 4 in a row with losses to Apple Valley, Lakeville South and Jefferson and lost badly (4+ goals) to B'ville and Eagan in February. Impact to LN losing to the 10-12-1 Lakers is they won't be seeded any higher than 3rd IF the top teams make it to St. Paul. Edina and Wayzata 'easily' the higher seeds with strong records and tougher schedules.

So right now they are good. They'll be very or very very good if they beat EV tomorrow night? Even though they have already beaten them? ??

What Nuts & Bolts said above.

But if it really bothers you, I'll amend my flippant comment and say that you might add a very or two if they beat Eastview again.

The Lakers are 8-2-1 at home and 2-10-0 on the road. The soft ice at the Dakotah seems to suit them.

Just saying I doubt a 2nd win over EV bumps them to a "very" or "very very" good status. I would consider very or very very good to be a top 10 type team.

1) I say the exact same thing I said last week before their 3 remaining regular season games:

"LN has 3 regular season games remaining including this one vs East, Eagan and PL. No easy games. I think if they have a chance at winning it all, it would almost serve them best to lose 1 of regular season games remaining to regroup, get their minds right, make sure they are focused and be prepared for what lies ahead in sections. I just think it would be almost impossible to win 25 straight- (which is what it would take it they ran table on remaining games and won state.)"

No reason to hit the panic button. These are HS kids.

AND...

2) I still think the same thing I thought a week ago about you "BlueLightSpecial"....you are nothing more than an internet troll. Beat it.

According to you though, it was likely my fault that LN lost last night since I'm a "LN parent" who players and staff can thank for putting a target on their backs!

You get smarter everytime you post!

"Nothing more than a Internet troll, now beat it!" lol

My ex-wife used to tell me the same thing...! :) Small world.

Anyways - I will agree that one tough loss in the last 18/19 games shouldn't drop LN from Number Uno. If they lose any remaining - probably yes, but for now they need to stay where they are at.

They don't have any reg season games remaining...are you referring to sections?

I think if Edina beats EP this sat and Edina makes it to state they will have 1 overall seed.

I would agree with that one. But I was talking about final, year end State rankings- not State Seedings just yet..

Edina is the best overall team in the state IMO, Wayzata next, then LN, Blaine, HM, then the field.

I hope Edina is not ranking #1. They have been ranked #1 twice this year and right after that they lost there next game, one to Eagan and another to Burnsville right after the Schwan cup. Im a little superstitious.

With greenies insight Karl can you please rank Edina #1 right before sections begin?

No way LN stays at 1 or is the 1 seed if they make it to St. Paul after the loss to Prior Lake who finishes the regular season under 500. LN can still make some noise presuming they are the most sure thing to make it thru that awful section. :P

Agreed...not to mention LN was missing two key players with seperated shoulders courtesy of an Eagan hack (I'm refraning from naming names) and one key forward spent a lot of time in the bathroom...just sayin'. Only time will tell. Let's let the boys settle this one.
