D-2 has no AA teams. WBL/Stillwater to play D8. FL/D10. I thought NSP/Revolution was going to play D2.[are they A?]

The BE website indicates that the Revolution will play PWAA in D2 as part of the NSP Association. From what I hear nothing has been mentioned at D2 meetings about a PWAA team from NSP. With 3 only known PWAA teams in D2, Stillwater and WBL are playing in D8 and FL in D10. That leaves the question, if NSP/Revolution is playing PWAA, where are they playing? Will the team only have BE students or will they allow NSP members to tryout for their PWAA team?

I might remember somebody explaining on here how there would be no parity with the AA/A split in some districts.

Quote from the D2 August meeting minutes linked above:

DIRECTOR – Jake R  Had a redistricting meeting. Lots of discussion but nothing was decided.  Coaches who do not do Safesport by December 31st will be redlined. Managers and Association Board Members also need to do it.  AA- Forest Lake will play in D10, WBL & Stillwater will play in District 8. Roseville has not responded yet.

Interesting ... wouldn't D2 rep need to get a nod from D8 and D10 to make this a fact? Not seeing anything out from D8 or D10. It would involve scheduling and home/away for the host districts, and would not think teams from south of Farmington are anxious to play an away game in Stillwater in later Jan. Host districts would enjoy the competitions from the D2 teams, but both D10 and D8 are not lack of AA teams.

Our BAA/PAA coaches are set to attend D10 schedule meeting. Forest Lake fits D10 geographically better then D2 anyway !!!

Problem is D2 AA programs "opting" down to A. No teams left to play.

I attended the last few d8 meetings. August meeting Rak indicated that WBL AA and Stillwater AA teams were 100% playing in D8 league and would be attending d8 schedule meetings. D8 A teams will not play D8 AA teams this year in league. There will be a seperate D8 A league unless not enough teams for a viable league in which case D8 A teams would play in D2 A league.

Owatonna is also requesting to play in D8 AA leagues...this will be voted on at Sept meeting.

40-50 associations choosing to play at AA level, forming 4 or 5 mega districts. That sounds about right.

It is still interesting to see some associations choose to play A but have the strength of playing in AA; while others play AA but really should play A level. It seems to be a lot of hit-and-miss's when season starts.

I said give it a few years and it will morph back in to exactly what A/B-1 was.... Naturally it would. And now we get to have districts that are imploding.

The A level is the new B-1

I don't see how everyone could not see this coming.

I am honestly curious as to what the people on the side of creating this new (call it what it is) naming system thought this would do?

What on earth was it going to change? Seriously, what could the outcome had been otherwise? Please someone tell me what the "powers-that-be" were directing this towards.
