Actually, I'm going with

Hermantown
Breck
With a slew of possiblities for third including, but not limited to EGF or Warroad, Totino-Grace, Marshall, for starters.

If I had time I'd do Class A too, but HSHockeyWatcher usually does the job once the season gets going. As for LPH's effort, I think the top three are pretty clear. I could argue the order of 4-7, but I think those are all defensible.

Not sure how much I agree with after that, though. A lot of those teams look to be just coasting on what they did last year. Blake, Denfeld, and Hibbing should probably be higher. No Lourdes in the top 20?

Lourdes was in the semifinals last year and had a shot at upsetting Mankato west last year. That game could have gone either way.

My hey had several big injuries last year and had three or so very young players on varsity last year that led the team in scoring. I see those players being even better and Lourdes being competitive all year. Not to mention the goaltending that is very strong.

By the end of the year the Lourdes will be in top twelve in single A.

It's too bad the coaches in Class A don''t take the time to actually research the teams. Take this pre-season list and match it up w end of year. You won't see much change, outside of Top 5.

So with Duluth Marshall losing two players to transfer they have enough depth to stay in the top 10? Is everyone else just that bad?

IMO, Marshall was going to be every bit as good as Hermantown this season. They would have had an outstanding top line, a very solid 2nd line, 2 Elite and 2 Elite Prep defensemen, and an excellent goalie.

Now that 2/3 of their top line has flown the coop (both Elite Leaguers), they will be significantly less potent offensively. However, their defense and goaltending should keep them in most games and there is still enough talent at forward to give them a fighting chance at going to state.

Instead of Hermantown and Marshall being 1a and 1b in the section, now it is Hermantown at 1 with a bullet and Marshall and Denfeld are 2a and 2b.

Trax, The rankings are way off. Coaches just go off last year's final rankings and don't take the time to vote and do research.

Look for Denfeld to end the year in the top 10.

If memory serves, he's usually pretty scarce during the summers. Hopefully he'll be back once the season has started. If not, I guess we'll start taking applications...
