Let us know what you saw at the local barns! The season is upon us. @grhshockey on twitter is doing updates from the IRA. GR was up on HIB 2-1 halfway thru, goals by Jason Koehn and John Stampohar for GR. Rapids top line held out, likely to suit up for Hill Murray next.

Rapids results from the IRA Civic Center:

Grand Rapids 2
Hibbing/Chisholm 1

Jason Koehn & John Stampohar scored from Rapids and Joe Burt had a great breakaway save.

Hill-Murray 1,
Grand Rapids 0

Jason Koehn on this one: "It was a really good, high tempo game that was physical."

I have confirmed that it is Cloquet & Grand Rapids tonight at 7:30 PM.

St. Paul Academy 5, Greenway 1. SPA has a nice team. They were faster, passed the puck well, and had more skilled players. Greenway played the body very well. SPA scored 3 goals in the first 10 minutes.

Mahtomedi 6
Denfeld 1

Mahtomedi 2*

* with a normal 3 referee system Maht ties it 3-3, but the single ref was out of position, didn't see the puck go in the net, and couldn't tell by the goalie skating away from the net and shaking his head in frustration

Mahtomedi 6
