Who is the best coach in the state?

Is Trebil of AHA the best coach in the state of Minnesota? He has had some excellent teams in the past and he has won it twice in AA. Is he the best? Dave Morninville has also has had arugably the best teams the the state the last few years but he has never won the big show, where would you put him?

In my opinion I would say that Williard Ikola is the best coach to ever coach Minnesota High School Hockey but as far as active coaches go I would have to say that Trebil is up their if you look at his record he is something like 237-38-9. I would put Morninville down towards the bottom, if you can't win with the teams he has had then your missing something.

True but you could say the same thing about Moorhead's teams the last three years or so and they can't get it down. Moorhead got out coached last year for sure.

LaRoque-GR, Randolph-East, Esse-CEC are all very good coaches.

Morinville, Trebil, Randolph, Sarsland, Aus from Centennial, Housley from Stillwater. I think Esse could be thrown in there also.

If you're talking about the State Champioship it came down to goaltending. Moorhead outplayed them by a mile but they just couldn't score and their goaltending was weak.

All of you recruiting folks need to step back and lose your keyboards. None of you and I repoeat none of you know anything about Trebil, AHA or recruiting. The fact is it is illegal and there are no instances of recruiting in the organization. If you want to argue go ahead, you will not be able to prove it, it has been investigated and found to not be happening. The fact of the matter is that when it comes to coaching, Trebil can take what he has and take the team to the next level. I see a lot of teams play and I do not see a lot of Trebils out there. There are a few. Let the recruiting bit go and stay on the thread of who is the best coach.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

DumpandChase1, count the titles and then tell me that Willard Ikola isn't arguably one of the best coaches in Minnesota history. Nobody has earned more titles than him. Counte em' up!

GoGophers, I played 3 years for him, so I know first hand. Look at the talent he had, they should have won twice as many titles.

yeah for trebil to be considered a good coach he should have to win state every year for all the talent he has to deal with

Why do people say this about Trebil? ANyone with any brains will know that winning back to back is pretty tough. I do not believe that winning it all is a sign of a good coach. I think a coach who can take a group of players, adding new players every year (all teams do this) and get them to play as a team overcoming all sorts of issues is a sign of a good coach. Every team in the state has new players every year. This year AHA only had to replace 5 players from last years team. Let us look next year when they graduate 10 players, including two goalies. I am sure Trebil will be able to take what he has on the JV and what is left over from this years team and produce another good team.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Come on Zamman, not every coach has the luxury of replacing last years all star team with this years all star team.
