Also, is it just me or are these rankings AWFUL? Wayzata at #8 when they're a .500 team? One loss Bemidji at #9? Benilde at #7 (granted they're playing better as of late, but they're still 8-6-2)? St. Thomas loses it's first game of the year and some how H-M is ranked above them? I just don't get it.
Granted, I think there is a separation between the top 15 teams and the rest of the teams in the state, but the logic they seem to apply to these rankings is puzzling.
Didn't mean to scold anyone, I was just saying it seems that the ranking system for the top 10 appears to differ from the bottom 10. Or at least it seems like there are other factors that go into the rankings.elliott70 wrote:

But I think what we need is a 'bored' ranking system.. We all put our two cents in and then average them out.
Our resident rankers do a fine job, but the rest of us always feel they should be tweaked.
Perhaps we need to bring back the weekly 'bored' rankings so it can be done 'right' and the methodology out in the open for all to see.
Got the scolding elsewhere.bubblehockey27 wrote:Didn't mean to scold anyone, I was just saying it seems that the ranking system for the top 10 appears to differ from the bottom 10. Or at least it seems like there are other factors that go into the rankings.elliott70 wrote:

I'm in Elliot! Let's start a weekly member poll!
Bblhcky, So you don't like the rankings - tell us what your rankings would be as I think we would be interested in knowing.bubblehockey27 wrote:For the lazy...

Who is Reis?WestMetro wrote:I looked at everyones rankings for this week, and about only thing can say for sure is pretty much consensus on top two. And in most (but not all) top 5, but not necessarily in same order.
Around Christmas, I started thinking that it was almost impossible at that point to distinguish #9-15, then as season went along #7-15, and now maybe #6-15??
I have to rely on Elliott and others about Bemidji, obviously there are enough LPH coaches who think they rightfully belong in top 10. That being the case, I think LPH is pretty close in #6-15, at least as a group.
The question earlier about Wayzata is a good one, especially now that Stevens is hurt. I am going to see Ep at Wayz tonite, several D1s to watch.
This game should decide between those two on the list. Then Saturday, we will see who is correct about Hill vs STA, I say flip of the coin but then Ill give the edge to Lechner.
Just for fun, I went back and found my final preseason ranking , below. I missed on #1 vs #2, and a little overrating of BSM, and way overanked HF and MG.
