I think the problem is not unbalanced B teams, but too many wanting to go AA and A. My opinion, there should less than 10 associations with AA and A (follow the original intent of the change).edgeless2 wrote:Unbalanced B teams.

MN Hockey leadership may or may not need to be changed or revamped. But the talent level of ones children has NOTHING to do with how good a leader a person is or whether or not their vision is or is not a good one. They are out of touch with realty, the play off system with AA and A, need to come up with a better system. Take the top 64 associations according to total hockey players and make them AA. Th rest is A. This way you will be able to compare apples to apples. Who is the best with the same number of kids.
Minnesota Hockey leadership needs to take a hard look at what we are doing we only had 2 kids make the worldjuniorchampionship. I know currently of 2 people high up in Minnesota Hockey that have really no understanding of the development needs that are changing in the market place. 1 has kids that were benders and he is high up in Minnesota hockey his kids never played varsity and he tells us what we need to do.
I have talked to several HS coaches that are concerned about Minnesota Hockey leadership.
Again how ones kid develops is still up to the kid and his passion for the game and his work ethic. One of the best hockey visionaries/coaches/USA Hockey admins I know has a son who is below average in the game. He makes some of the best decisions in the world for hockey as far as I am concerned and it has nothing to do with how good or bad his kid is. Another guy I know whom I respect immensely in the hockey world, his son plays basketball and football, I am not going to stop looking to him for advice or direction in hockey though just because of that. Again it's a ludicrous statement. How good ones son or daughter is has ZERO relevance on how good their vision or advice is. They may have a terrible vision or bad advice but it has nothing to do with the development of their own child. I don't know about the gaining momentum part but certainly it has changed a lot of things in the Metro hockey world.
