STA vs CDH tonight at STA. STA is looking to get back on track after giving up games to BSM and HM. CDH has been rolling as of late climbing the rankings. Looking to get some elite takes, as I have not seen CDH play, and I only saw STA play for Hockey Day MN, and consider that game a wash.

St. Thomas Academy 0 2 1 3
Cretin-Derham Hall 2 1 1 4
POWER PLAYS
St. Thomas Academy 2 for 2 (100.0%)
Cretin-Derham Hall 0 for 1 (0.0%)
SHOTS 1 2 3 T
St. Thomas Academy 12 10 9 31
Cretin-Derham Hall 9 11 13 33

last years scoresheet...I'm guessing the game won't be much different as these two teams have no love lost for each other. STA is an offensive juggernaut and will give CDH's D a headache in a dump and chase style of play with speed. STA can be scored on and CDH has scoring from all lines this year..any guy on any night can bury the puck. Special teams will play a big roll as always.

Prior to the games start, STA will feature a quick tribute to both teams goalie's parents as part of their military appreciation night, as they both have parents who are serving currently or retired from service. I'm guessing that handshake and the one at the end of the game will be slightly different.

5-3 either way with an empty netter.

Good info Tenover, but it's funny how you predict the score and an empty net goal, but not who wins?

I'll go with 4-2 STA.

i don't think CDH can stay with STA, hand it to CDH they won last years game but i believe STA had won the 10 prior, could be wrong but I think this will be like the 10 prior. STA 5-2

CDH has been up and down this year. I don't know that the rivalry will help them much.

STA wins 7-0.

5-2, Bauerman had the right quote saying CDH wouldn't be able to handle them...all 5 goals were speed driven going wide and getting around the D and making plays. CDH had several prime scoring chances and didn't capitalize. The game was still 3-1(zoinks) midway through the 3rd period. Versich had 3 assists and drew a couple penalties when the wind blew and he fell down, but his speed was far superior to anything on the ice. All in all it could have been worse and if these two meet in the Sections..will make for a great game..

The score was never 3-2. Cadets were up 5-1 midway through the third

Packed house, big student sections on both sides, some chants that may have crossed the line but good fun.

Cretin put the neutral zone trap into play nearly the whole game. They did limit the stretch pass STA loves to play. They also gave up fewer shots as a result. But the trade off is they limited the chances their own forwards got, and their D was caught flat footed when a STA forward could make it through the gauntlet. This resulted in several STA forwards beating the D wide as a previous poster alluded.

The last goal was a result of a hard fore-check at the end of the game vs NZT. They may need to go to that in the Sections if they are going to score enough to beet STA.

I would put quality scoring chances double in STA's favor even with the Defensive concentration. CDH goalie stopped a bunch of point blanks.
