Kind of odd timing for this, although we don't know the details. http://strib.mn/1DpEatM

Why would it make a difference if it was a public school?hockeydad wrote:FOIA laws don't apply here... SPA is a private school.
Nothing has been released to coaches players or parents, so anyone close with the team is just about at the same level the rest of the state is. Looking at hockey_is_a_choice's statement, and seeing how the head of school has reacted to the situation, I doubt the reason will ever be officially announced, so theres not a lot to dwell on right now for the coaches players or parents - besides getting past sections.Whiner33 wrote:Windmill 31 what's the scoop on this deal?
Just one Guy's opinion...if a certain windmill throws his hat in the ring for an interim position they will be playing at the X!Windmill31 wrote:Nothing has been released to coaches players or parents, so anyone close with the team is just about at the same level the rest of the state is. Good luck to the team and the parents! Hang tough together!edgeless2 wrote:Just one Guy's opinion...if a certain windmill throws his hat in the ring for an interim position they will be playing at the X!Windmill31 wrote:Nothing has been released to coaches players or parents, so anyone close with the team is just about at the same level the rest of the state is. Unfortunately, I agree with you.thestickler07 wrote:Huh, really weird.
And not to be the one to throw out rampant speculation, but I feel like this was something scandalous. He's an ambitious guy but timing of the move seems to preclude moving up in the coaching ranks.
Not sure what you mean here? I am pretty sure this has to do with something more than just recruiting.MrBoDangles wrote:Seems more of a case of what drew so much talent there so quickly..?
Recruiting and what else? So there was a bad reason for the resignation?EliteHockeyMind wrote:Not sure what you mean here? I am pretty sure this has to do with something more than just recruiting.MrBoDangles wrote:Seems more of a case of what drew so much talent there so quickly..?
I am not going to speculate on what happened, heard rumors of the reasons but common, if there was a good reason for the resignation we would have heard about it.![]()
Only if he/she were not good at it...thestickler07 wrote:You guys really think a hockey coach in this state would get pushed out for recruiting?
This doesn't make any sense, SPA has won 21 games.oldschoolpuckster wrote:Only if he/she were not good at it...thestickler07 wrote:You guys really think a hockey coach in this state would get pushed out for recruiting?
So you know more than the Ast Coaches? Must be the AD?Goldyismoldy wrote:I know, but I no say...
But it had nothing to do with recruiting.
The assistant coaches don't know the reason either, because the AD wouldn't tell them. They were plenty pissed.
I'm actually kind of surprised the former coach didn't discuss the situation with his assistant coaches before leaving. In my experience those relationships are pretty close.Goldyismoldy wrote:I know, but I no say...

I have no idea what they know now NTMH, or whether they've had contact with the former coach.Nevertoomuchhockey wrote:I'm actually kind of surprised the former coach didn't discuss the situation with his assistant coaches before leaving. Of course we are assuming that Goldy is correct and they really don't know rather than are respectfully staying out of it.
