I was going to say Duluth East, Burnsville and Denfeld, and then I saw your pick of Warroad. Looks good to me! We'll be at the 7A semis, but have to miss the 7AA semis (wives can really screw things up sometimes)

FYI - I didn't see East as an upset over Rapids but the other way around that if Rapids wins it will be an upset.

Again I think Hibbing could possibly upset Hermantownn (Blue Jackets always seem to give the Hawks trouble)Jefferson could make a game of it against Edina.

Warroad will beat Thief. Roth was back for the Crookston game last night, scored 4 of Warroad's 5 goals. Thief may be the #2, but with Roth back, Warroad is the better team. Without Roth, this game is a coin flip. 4-1 Warroad.

Most years I think you ar right but this year I think Rapids has to be favored over East. We hear lots about the "system" that Randolph likes to use but I don't think he has the team for it this year. Rapids is deeper across the board, has better goal tending and has a better 1st and 2nd line than East does. the only chance east has is if the Rapids team from their "give a damn" period shows up in which case East wins. Rapids needs to run and gun with East and get up a couple of goals and then finish them off.

Is anybody flashing back to that classic border battle at Braemar, just throwing a guess out there-2012? Though the Bees are a clear favorite, Jefferson leads Edina 4-3 about midway through the 3rd. Edina shoots a puck on net that questionably crosses the goal line. Refs waive it off. Then proceed to have a meeting with the goal judge. A few minutes later and a lot of murmuring in the crowd, the ref turns around and karate chops signaling a good goal. Some people say that ref dropped a couple of the Franklins on his way over to the score table and had to turn around to pick them back up, but I have never seen any evidence of this. I believe Edina scored the go ahead goal minutes later, and hung on to win 5-4. Did they go on to win a state trophy that year?

Semi-final Saturday somewhat depresses me, as there are so many premier games going on at one time & I'm forced to pick & choose. If I could only be in 17 places at once. Or at least have teleportation.

The hub was at that game, they took pictures and showed a picture with the puck that looked like it crossed the line, I am biased as an Edina fan, but I was there right in the corner and I thought it was a good goal. Regardless they did score again to take the lead and then they controlled play for the last two minutes without giving the puck up and hitting the post twice.
That game was in 2013, and yes they did win the Tournament that year.

I am thinking there will be a number of 3 over 2 upsets.
Fergus over Cathedral
Wayzata over Tonka
Northfield over West
East over Rapids
Farmington over South
Warroad over TRF
New Ulm over Hutch

Bigger upsets...
4) Maple Grove over 1) Blaine
5) CEC over 1) Elk River
6) Tartan over 3) Stillwater
4) Apollo over 1) Alex

Biggest Upset
4) Rosemount over 1) St. Thomas Academy

If you go by the poll in the separate "EP vs Benilde" thread, the biggest upset would be BSM beating EP. As of now, EP is favored by a 13-2 margin.
