Bjugstad, Martin, Leopold, Oshie, Lee, etc., etc. they all stayed through their senior years. Interesting read about a roster of current players made up solely of guys who came up through MN youth hockey and/or played MN HS hockey:

I believe Byfuglien never played hs. Didn't Wheeler, Okaposo and Stalock play in the USHL their sr year?

SSM is a Mn high school, with high school kids playing high school sports.
Though they play in a different league in hockey, they do participate in the MSHS League in
other sports

I think it's a stretch to say 'playing MN high school hockey' and 'playing hockey at a high school geographically in MN' are the same.

Leaving off Justin Faulk is definitely an error. Some others to consider include Alex Goligoski, Erik Johnson, and Matt Hendricks. In total, 39 players born in Minnesota played in the NHL at some point this season and that doesn't include Oshie or Goligoski.
EDIT: Comment from the columnist "u dont need to be born in MN to be on the list. youth/HS hockey roots are qualifications"

Long drive today so I did some research the bride drove.
Of the 40 players to play in the nhl this year, All but 3 played HS hockey at some point. (Parise, Byfuglin, Okposo)
Only 1 played major junior during HS (Byfuglin). The only other player to play in the whl at all was Pitlick and he played after he completed HS and a year at Mankato St.
27 of the players played HS hockey their senior year*
*could be off by a couple since I couldn't find info going back that far on a few players.

The only two wild games I saw this year were the Islanders in December and the Rangers last night, both with good Minnesota representation. Must be something about New York

You could throw Braun on San Jose into that Mix. Eric Hartzell in the AHL also in the goalie mix.
There may be a few current NCAA kids that could push some of these guys within a year or two.
