Far from certain but inside track for Bemidji would be Matt Fitzgerald. A sophomore. Older brother Erik is a D man senior and will be playing his third season of varsity.

Luverne will run two horses until one pulls ahead.
Erickson or Tofteland.

Edina had 2 seniors goalies last year. Their next best goalies are Degrood and Merta. I believe they both were on JV last year.
Edina is lacking both goalies AND defense this year. Phillips will have to play a huge role as a sophomore. The big man Calvin Pugh (who made Edina's varsity team as a freshman) is also coming back, and he'll be a much needed help at the blue line.
Edina's team will be interesting to watch this year....

I'm not sure this is true - they may have had their next two best goalies at JGA. If they choose to tryout, they will be in the mix.

For Rapids, the have two sophomore goalies that are really good, not just Stejskal. Gabe Holum is also a great goaltender.

I am looking forward to seeing Stej in the Elite League. Not too many kids get selected as sophomores. In fact, I Can't remember the last time a sophomore goalie was selected, OU812?

both of edinas jv goalies should be just fine. their D should be alittle bit better. would be surprised if pugh is one of starting 4. how come the ep goalie isnt in the elite league? Is he playing some where else.

EP Varsity goale got cut from Elite League and EP JV Goalie got cut from Prep Elite. My two cents JV goalie got shafted should have made Prep league.

Maybe elite selection committee didn't like Durochers antics at the end of last season? Because his Gaa was pretty good

I expect Karki to be very solid for the Saint Cloud Cathedral Crusaders this winter.

I would be very surprised to see Grand Rapids go with two sophomore goalies

Interesting observation. I agree that the EP JV goalie should have been on D League. From the rosters that came out - it seems overly political to me. From an outsider looking in..........

i saw that EP JV goalie at the HP 16 tryouts to. Big kid with great technique. Definitely political choices at that tryout to. Wonder if he will get a shot at the varsity level this year. He looks better than Durocher. (and, maybe he doesn't like to fight either)
BSM. Bischell is hit or miss with me. I don't think he works very hard and it shows. However, he played a great game at Duluth East about a month ago. They don't have a lot of goalies in the pipeline unless someone is transferring.
Edina. Looking forward to see how that all shakes out. Actually, I am interested in watching how there whole season unfolds.

I agree. JV goalie is Brady Anderson. He had a great JV season last year with .921 save percentage and 1.4 GA. EP is loaded with goalies this year and is probably one of the reasons why they will be ranked no. 1 this year. Anderson got the shaft for Elite D. I expect him to give Durocher a run for the starting job this year.

Mr hockey - EP does have some good goalies in the mix. BA is good but he has at least two kids in front of him.
It will be interesting to see what happens at EP and Edina this year.

Is there a clear cut best goalie in the state now that Edquist is with Madison?

EP goalie will be fine next year when the EP varsity assistant pulls him onto his "Elite" League.

Based on the play I saw from the Southwest Metro team this weekend, I bet they are regretting not picking that EP JV goalie now.
They're also at the bottom of the rankings for the 8 teams.

Not a big fan of there coach either. Just ask Austin Krause.

Just my two cents.....Charlie DeGrood is a great kid and I think he would be a great asset to the Hornets.
