Cloquet took on Duluth Marshall for a scrimmage yesterday at Marshall. Fun to watch for sure. Hey. I saw that Derek Plante stepped down at UMD. He must be taking over the Hermantiwn program for his dad soon?

That was also my first thought when I saw the news.

Anyone for Cloquet or Marshall really stand out?

Yes. For Cloquet, that first line of Bender, Johnson, and Litsey stood out. Marshall very impressive too. I think #8 (big and fast) and another kid with a red helmet on. Marshall depth looked good and that top line of Cloquet all over the ice. 7AA will be a dogfight this year :)

kniven, who is competing in goal for CEC? Any players coming up from bantams that you think will have an impact?

Well, Newman and Holshouser went through the grinder last yea early and they both finished the second half of the season well. Newman a junior and Holshouser a senior will be just fine this upcoming season. I haven't heard or seen anything different this offseason. Casey looked great against Marshall in that scrimmage on Tuesday.

no. i usually don't start filming until the scrimmages in November prior to the season. I always look forward to doing the scrimmage up in your kneck of the woods in November every year. =) it's going to be all out war again this year too. i like how my Lumberjacks are looking and will be this upcoming season. Your Grand Rapids hockey boys will again be dominant. I always look forward to the challenge of playing the team in blaze orange twice every year =)

Cloquet had a solid bantam team last year and bring back some key players on varsity. It will be interesting to see what Esse can do with a big improvement in the talent pool. Seeds 1-5 will be a dogfight. I hope the game vs Duluth East for CEC will be video streamed somewhere this time around.

It's all gotten political and greedy since I first started streaming games a couple years ago. I'm hoping they just hire someone to do it. I'll see what I can do this year though...

Hermantown and CEC tied at 0 after 1st half of scrimmage here in Cloquet. Up and down the ice action. Good to see the boys on the ice again...
