As stated in a few articles, I think this is obviously a ploy by the Big Ten to tilt the field in their favor. They haven't seen success against other conferences all that much besides the WCHA. None of the B10 schools said anything about these rules before the creation of the conference. Change the way you recruit or get better as a team.

I agree. I was and am in favor of the BigTen hockey conference however using this type of unilateral bullying tactic to change a rule that really benefits no one but the schools who willingly CHOOSE to recruit like that is B.S. CHanging a rule to benefit a small minority of schools and hhurting hundereds if not thousands of potential student athletes in the process is crap. I don't like it as a fan or as an alumn of a BigTen school.
