I believe this game will be broadcast on minnesotahockeymag.com. I'll be looking to see how EP's top line does vs arguably their best competition so far and if BSM has more depth than EP, and better goaltending. Predictions?

I don't know who will win, but it's a safe bet that the parking lot is full before the end of the second period in the JV game.

I'm going with the upset in this early year matchup.
BSM wins 3-2

Agree with the 50 50 split of votes. Game will turn on one pipe vs twine, or one 2 on 1 from a blown D coverage. Both teams with seasoned goalies and deep rosters . Should be a good one, I'll be there.

Saw EP play CDH. At times men v boys. Just curious, how many if any of EP's players also play football.

I think you guys are WAY off. The parking lot will be full by the end of the first JV period. I'll be there at noon. I hope they're well stocked on nachos and fountain soda!

Bayside is right, the undercard could be entertaining. JV for either squad probably has 4+ players who would be on a varsity roster somewhere else. Some are swing line players who are fighting for time and looking to impress. BSM JV has a couple of very good players, and goalie is good.
As far as the main event, I like BSM to continue their hot streak and expose the EP Defense a little bit. Maybe even get the EP goalie fired up enough to start another skirmish, a la Section playoff game.
7-6 BSM in a high scoring track meet, because the EP top line will score-just not enough.

Just got word. It looks like the boys will be webcasting the Benilde-St. Margaret's vs. Eden Prairie game on Friday night...as predicted elsewhere on the board!

Any 'bored' member attending this game that can post an update a couple of times a period?

Couple things on this game:
1. We just published a preview and predictions for the game, complete with Coach quotes and pics.
Link:

2. We will also be carrying the game both live and archive. I will join Charlie Beattie in the booth as color analyst. On top of the game, we will also produce a post game highlight video, game story and interviews. #1 vs. #2 coverage can all be found here:

I think I will get there early to watch the JV game and score my good seat too. I caught part of the EP JV game vs Maple Grove. I agree that there are some impressive kids. This will be a good chance for me to see the up and coming kids from BSM too.
As for varsity: I give it to BSM. Their lines are clicking and their goalie is playing very well. I've only watched EP once vs. Maple Grove. Goaltending will be the difference.
BSM 6-3

Benilde -
Penalty Kill: 25/27 for kill rate of 92.6%
Power Play: 19 PP with score rate of 26.3%
EP -
Penalty Kill: 18/23 for kill rate of 78.3
Power Play: 17 PP with score rate of 17.6%
Benilde is taking 4.5 penalties per games compared to 5.75 for EP. However EP is drawing an extra PP per game compared to Benilde.
I would expect this game to be up and down the rink and the penalties will be a result of eliminating a scoring chance.
Another brawl? - that would be interesting to say the least.

I think BSM will take this one 4-3.
My thinking is BSM's goaltending and depth will make the difference.

Will this game be sellout? How early would one need to get there?

I don't know if every seat will be taken, but to be assured of a parking spot in the lot plus a decent seat I would get there no later than 5:30.

Score: 1-0. EP 15 shots. None of any quality. BSM 7 shots. One breakaway miss.
Very chippy. EP in box a lot. Their scoring line shut down. Goalie very sloppy.
BSM confident. Controlling play. Defense keeping goalie shots low.goals will start to flood in soon for them I feel.
JV...EP won 5-3. Great goals all around.
Packed house. Great atmosphere
