I have been hearing rumors that a new hockey academy is comming to Alexandria near the new HS. It sounds to be on the level of a Shattuck St. Mary's. I am curious to know if anyone on here has any details on this and would like to know your thoughts on it. Thanks!

This link should give you a little info on the situation. Doesn't say too much about the hockey situation but it addresses it briefly in the bottom half.

From one of the other articles listed at the bottom of the page regarding the NCA, listing some of the hockey FAQs. Living in the Alexandria area, what you are reading is about all that is really public right now.

North Star Christian Academy in Alexandria was a plan in the works years ago before hockey entered the picture.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, has run camps in Alexandria the past 3 years. They experienced such great support from the people in Alexandria, that when FCA Hockey was looking for a national headquarters, Alexandria was on their list. FCA met with NCA, and a partnership was formed. NCA will be building a rink on the school grounds. FCA will run camps, clinics and potentially host a couple Tier 1 or Tier 2 hockey teams.
Lots of misinformation floating around town, regarding the school and their intentions, but I do know this: There are really good people behind it. The FCA people are great people, and I am excited to see them come to Alexandria.
So, in summary, FCA is considering running Tier 1 and/or Tier 2 teams out of Alexandria, Minnesota. They will skate out of an arena located at North Star Christian Academy. Shovels are in the ground for the school, but not yet on the arena.
