I apologize for putting this in the MN forum, but every so often I have to share a story from that other state across the border.

Appleton United came into this game 15-0 and #1 in the state. In what had to be one of the biggest upsets in sports at any level, Fon Du Lac school St Mary's Springs rose to the challenge and beat them 3-4 in OT. They are conference rivals and at 0-14 Springs has to be one of the worst teams in the state.

Appleton did play its regulars, but sat their #1 goalie. Appleton lead in shots 43-20. Just goes to show, anything can happen.

The Pack saw no need to cover Larry Fitzgerald.

Wisconsin is the place with 13 NFL titles and 6 NCAA D1 hockey titles (the most recent in 2006)

Minnesota is the place with ZERO NFL titles and 5 NCAA D1 Hockey titles (the most recent in 2003)

Minnesota is the place with 6 NCAA D1 Hockey titles as well (Most recent 2011) Might want to fact check before coming up with your "championship" argument :o

I remember the Badgers 76-77 Title team. Their Coach and 13 players were from MN. 3 were from WI, including 2 Suters. I think we can count that one for MN.

Pretty sure the 73 and 81 title teams had more players from MN than WI too.

Yep, quick glance at the rosters shows more MN players than WI on 73, 81 and 83 title teams too.

The 1990 Roster that I found doesn't have all the hometowns listed, but for the ones that it does show, 10 from MN and 3 from WI.

Not to mention Minnesota has produced the most NHLers by a huge margin and Wisconsin isn't a top 5 state in producing NHL talent.

2006 is the only Wisconsin Title team that had more players from WI than MN.

So looks like the final count is

MN - 11
WI - 1

Apparently, Wisconsin is the place that doesn't have its own hockey message board. :)
