Hey, My name is andy nelson i play for the austin packers hockey team. Luke is a teammate of mine and on monday night there was a terrible incident that happened. Luke and another player from new ulm got tangled up going into the corner in overtime. Luke went straight into the boards head first and instantly stayed down on the ice. Luke couldnt feel neck down, but is gradually getting some motion in spots. But along ways from being able to use his arms, or legs. Lukes spinal cord was bruised and was chipped that caused bleeding. I'm calling out on here to get support for luke and his family during this tough time. Not only did it affect him but affected everyone around him cause he was the heart and soul of the hockey team and a great guy that repected the human body. There was a few call outs asking for his number and address. I cant give you that but i can surely give u my address and if u want to send a card or flowers u can send them to my address and i can give them to luke. My address is 1900 18th Ave S.W., Austin, Mn 55912. Please send something because luke needs the support. IF you dont send anything please keep him in your thoughts and in your prayers. apacker 32 I'll tell my parents about Luke, his family's, and ur teams situation and bring up maybe that the JM Rocket family should all come together and do something for Luke to hopefuly bring some good out of the situation just givin ya heads up. <p></p><i></i>

Thanks man its deeply appreciated. Its been a hard last couple of days and luke needs as much support he can get from anyone. Luke is a senior this year and he dedicated himself to the game he loved so much and now he doesnt have the chance to finish. I need ppl out there to send the love and support to luke thank you! <p></p><i></i>

I am also a teammate of Luke's on the Austin Packer hockey team. Luke was a wonderful player and person. On the ice he was one of our better platers and leader. Off the ice he was one of kindest and friendliest people i have ever met. You could go throughout our team and school and NO ONE would give you a bad word about him, thats a promise. The hit was something i will remember as long as I live, as was the long busride home. The whole team was dead silent and hurt today in school. Just today he was able to move his knee, although it was only about an inch, and he claimed to have felt the needle they used to inject medicine into his body, if that is true its a great step. Earlier in the day he was given only a 20-40% chance of ever walking again. We can only hope and pray that he is able to reccover and live a somewhat normal life. Please pray for Luke. wow, definitely praying for that kid. it sucks that stuff like this happens, especially when they've been playing like their entire life. sounds like he's had some improvement, which is amazing! <p></p><i></i>

Everyone that has responded to any of these msgs. it would be deeply appreciated if you could spread the word and help out our friend. That needs all the support he can get. what you guys are doing for luke is amazing. what wonderful teamates and friends. shows how much guys really can care even though they dont always show it.. you boys truely are amazing when you look deep inside. andy, swats if you guys need anything dont be afraid to ask. the whole school is there to help. we are all feeling the pain. and we will all help him get thru this. <p></p><i></i>

andy..we are practically family..<br>swats.. there's so much we have thought of when we were in the library today. his gf wants to do a collage of pictures tommorow(bring some good ones from the younger years) we want to put some video cards together so he can actually see faces we will continue with cards and letters and stuff like that <p></p><i></i>
