Girards at Blaine

Girards did not play yesterday. Injured or day off. The backups did well but I was hoping to see girards play.

Looked like Garods took a leg/foot/ankle injury of sorts during last Saturday's game @ Elk River. After a multi-player collision that involved him, he was in obvious pain, yelling at the bench & looked as if he was debating skating to the bench during play, when it moved to the other end of the ice. Granted, play game back & he toughened it out, finishing until the whistle blew. After that, he hobbled off. I give him big tough guy points for finishing the play after he appeared in pretty rough shape. Which counts for a lot coming from an Elk fan.
Also note the backup goalie got taken out with an injury vs Hill Murray on Tuesday, too. And wasn't he the back-up of the back-up? Didn't they lose a goalie to a car accident earlier this year...? Never heard the full story on that, are they now down to their fourth-string goalie? It's like the Madden Curse, being a starting goalie for the Bengals this year. They better just use an extra wing or defenseman and not have a goalie for the rest of the season.

Kallestad was the kid injured in the car accident. He was back and was the goalie that got injured against Hill-Murray on Tuesday.

Both Girads and Kallestad are injured, they played a JV goalie, Mitch Peterson after Kallestad got pummeled into the net during the HM game. He fracture a vertebrae in that car accident, wore some kind of a body cast from his waist up to his neck for a few weeks to keep his back from bending to much. Not sure how you can have a fractured back and then a month later be playing hockey.
