Oden, a sophomore from Edina, committed this evening and announced it on social media.

Congrats to Emily!

Congrats to her but does this really warrant its own thread???? How about the '18 commits thread.

So did 3 other MN sophomores last fall..... Not sure of the need for a special thread for one player's commit.. Ridiculous IMO

If we're here to celebrate, analyze and converse on the girls HS game then I think this post is appropriate -- nice player -- don't comment on the thread if you don't like it

Note to self:

Don't start a thread about college commitments of high school girls hockey players.

Congrats thread police. I'll be sure to NOT post news about players when they make news in the future.

FWIW separate threads about individual players committing are routine on the Boys Forum. They usually draw just a few positive comments from those who know the player and/or the parents. Anyway, congrats to Miss Oden, and best of luck to you.

Ridiculous is a bit strong since every time a commit is made on the boys side, it gets it's own thread. Seems like there could be a bit of envy.
