Hey everybody, I decided I would help out and sort through the standings each week for this season.

Week one had a tie in it, which made it a little tougher, but speaking of the stalemate, a small congrats to Nuts&Bolts who was the only person to guess the correct result from that tie game.

We had 10 people who had a week one high of 7 games. The Tiebreaker was how many shots would STA have against Lakeville North, with the correct answer being 43. We had two people guess 36 shots, which was the closest to that correct answer, so our week one co-winners are:

Breaking down a little bit of the statistics from this week:
the game most people got right was St. Louis Park over Rochester Mayo with 95% of us getting it right, followed by 91% of us correctly predicting Grand Rapids over Tonka.

The game people struggled with the most excluding the tie game between Jefferson and Cloquet was Lakeville North's win over STA with 9% getting right.

The most split game was Moorhead over Bemidji with 64% getting right.

Week 2 was another garbage week for picking games. Hopefully it is just the early part of the season confusing us, otherwise we might all have to pick up watching basketball cause we aren't any good with hockey.

The average number right for each person came in at a low, 4.958 found by dividing the 119 correct picks by the 24 people playing. If you were to plot the correct picks for each individual person down from this week on a graph or a chart, we would almost have a symmetrical plot. One person got 3 right, 7 got 4 right, 9 people got 5 correct, 6 got 6 correct picks and just one had 7 right.

So, congratulations to SlapperAl who correctly predicted 7 games right.

It was a week where two games were almost 50/50 in predictions (STMA over Burnsville and Holy Angels over Providence Academy) but besides that, everyone predicted the same winners, and losers. Pretty much everyone was right on a game, or everyone was wrong on a game.

Hey everyone, sorry for the late message, I have no excuse, just being lazy.

It was a rough week with 2 games being postponed/cancelled for weather and one game ending in a tie, so the highest score possible was a 7, which nobody achieved.

Even with 7 being the highest you could score, we still did pretty bad as a group again with the average being 3.667 correct per player.

We had two people who scored 6 points, BodyShots and GoldenBear, but GB was a little closer on the tiebreaker so GoldenBear is the winner this week.

Hey Crew, another week with two ties means the highest score possible was an 8. We actually did pretty well for our standards, we had 82 correct picks played by 19 people so an average of 4.316. Two of the people who played missed the tuesday games though so they bring that average down, if you toss them out we sit at 4.824, which is much better than what we have been averaging.

We had one winner with a perfect 8/8 if you toss out the ties and that is TTpuckster. He was the last entry turned in on time, which was a little frustrating since I was the only one sitting at 7 correct picks, so I thought I had already locked up the win, so I am a little salty.

Sorry for the delay guys, though, I'm sure you are getting use to it now.

I am hoping the way I laid out the points with the additional tournament picks does not cause any controversy, but I keep the books so I guess I had the final say.
I was unsure if you got 2 points for correctly guessing all the tournament winners or if you got two points per winner you predicted. Since nobody got all of the tournament winners correct, along with another week with 2 ties I decided that you got two points per correctly predicted tournament winner. Everybody got at least one tournament right, but nobody got more than two.

Also, I went by official decisions so the Hill-EP game I ruled as a tie.

The highest point total possible this week after taking out the two ties and adding the 8 points for tournaments was 16. The highest score any of us got was 9, scored by 4 individuals.
The tiebraker was 53 shots combined by STA and Edina in the Gold final, and we had a tie on the tiebraker among our 4 finalists. MWScoach guessed a tiebraker of 51 and blueblood predicted 55. Unless we have been playing Price Is Right rules then I declare these two co-champs for the week.

We had two ties this week between BSM and Chanhassen, Breck and Moorhead, nobody got those right, so pretty much the highest possible was 8. Our winner for the week stood alone with 7 correct, he snuck in a comment in Karl's rankings wondering when the standings would be up. there are about 6 more people in single digits, but they have stopped playing so I am not gonna list them anymore unless they start playing again.

Week 8 is in the books, I wanted to throw out an idea for a hypothetical situation. I was thinking in the rare scenario that at the end of the year we had a tie at the top of the final season leader board what we would do for a tiebreaker. I can't remember if this has ever happened before or if a tiebreaker has been discussed, but I thought perhaps whoever had more weekly wins could be a tiebreaker. Let me know if you object to that, in the meantime I will begin to list out each weekly winner in my weekly posts.

This week we had a full 10 game spread, our high had two people guess 7 right, a low of 2 scored by 3 people, and the average score was 4.684.

Like I said, we had two people score 7 out of 10, but thanks to the tiebreaker we had one of those two hit the combo shots of EP and Stillwater perfectly on the head according to the hockeyhub. With a tiebreaker correctly predicted at 59, GoalieDefense is our week 8 winner!
