I would have to say EP sweeps its northern swing.

EP is a more talented team and should win, but EP has struggled playing consecutive nights (Edina Holiday Classic and Schwan Cup). I think it's a toss-up at this point, but being an EP alum, I will be rooting for them.

If East plays like they did last night EP will need to be at their best. I think Duluth will roll for awhile. Hounds 4-2 with an EN.

I gotta agree with kniven on this one Grin, EP will sweep. I think Rapids bottomed out the last game, and East is barely a top 15 team. EP shouldn't have a problem with either.

Maybe, but East really only has 1 boner game (Minnetonka) and GR really only has 1 boner game(East).

I still think EP has their hands full in this one.

Boner game? Is that a Green Bay saying?

Anyway Grin, name ONE impressive win East has this year other than the testosterone fueled Injuns? Its mid-January.

Is Johannes out today due to getting a game ejection against Cloquet? And btw DE still pulls in a recruit or two. The Paine kid who scored the 2nd goal against GR is a Superior, WI kid (I'm 99% sure) :)

Yes, Johannes had a game misconduct last night for his, um, choice words to the referee after drawing a tripping penalty. I heard them loud and clear from where I was.

And yes, the Evil East Recruiting Machine is still working just fine. It's just operating in the shadows a little more these days thanks to Hermantown drawing all the attention.

Yes, game misconduct penalties cause the player to be removed from the next game.
Game Misconduct Penalty: A game misconduct penalty is an ejection under League policies. The player or coach will be removed from that game for its duration and is ejected for the next game (s) according to the MSHSL bylaw 206 for Student/Coach Ejection from a contest.

I believe that's different in college, where it has to be a Game Disqualification. And same with IIHF.
