Teams that can beat Hermantown.

While I don't see anyone pulling of a "Miracle On Ice" against the Hawks in 7A there are at least two or maybe three teams in Class A that may have on outside chance.
1.Breck-The Mustangs remember the 5-0 thrashing in the championship last. I don't expect a shutout like that if the teams rematch in St Paul in a few weeks.
2. Delano-Tigers gave Plante's team all they could handle in the regular season game. If the Tigers play with the same intensity then it could get interesting (Delano needs to beat Breck in section first though).
3.East Grand Forks-The Green Wave may not be as strong as they were in 2014 and 2015 but they have the Hawks number in those state finals.

Doubtful, but I think the Wild would give them a pretty good game.

Since Hermantown doesn't have any seeds, shouldn't this thread be moved to the girls forum?

You have to wonder if there is not a point at which the attendance numbers will start to drop because of this. I get that going to the tourney for everybody but Hermantown is a big deal. But, would you want to make the drive from outer-Minnesota into downtown StPaul and pay money to park, eat, get into the game and etc when you know your team is gonna get killed? How long before people say they will pass on that expense and hassle and go tomorrow when their team plays Team X which should be a decent game?

Well, because there is always the possibility that they will get beat. And that can make it exciting and make you want to go. Just like when STA was there. Everybody was rooting for, (well maybe not everybody), Hermytown to beat them then.

By no means am I defending hermantown but I think it's kinda funny that when STA was beating them every year people were saying that class A hockey was made for "small towns" like hermantown and STA should pick on someone their own size. Combination of talent, alleged recruiting, and Bruce's comments have changed a lot of people's minds about them.

at the time plenty of people *cough cough* were dumping on a comparatively wealthy suburb hermantown doing exactly the same thing plante crusaded against.

That was only Bruce and Hermantown fans that were saying that. Everyone in the Duluth area knew what was going on in the Hermantown program and that it was anything but "small town" hockey. At least the STA folks had to shell out a bunch of cash to go there. The Hermantown recruits go to school for free, plus avoid the high taxes. So they actually come out ahead.
