Good list. Good to see Bauer Neudecker made the list. He is a fun player to watch if you've never seen him play.

This award would have been very interesting this year if CM hadn't returned.

Samberg has the highest draft ranking, Meyers has the numbers, Cates has produced the most for a top AA team etc. etc. You could make a case for nearly every guy on the list.

Begley already won it. They would never give it to a goalie that won't be tested in a Playoff environment. No way to know if he's any good or not.

Agreed, Begley will win and he deserves it.

Girls also do top 5 for Ms. Hockey, maybe because the boys list needs 10 names, more to choose from

Girls start with a top 10 also then narrow it down to top 5.

Yes , if CM had left , and if RP and Peruni had stayed, it might have been a tough vote !

I believe post season supposedly doesn't factor into who wins? What is is point total, since some people said he was way behind other winners? There are other nice players, but he is far and above the best in the state!

CM finished the regular season with 64 points.

-Tufte had 78 (85 including playoffs)
-Jaremko had 68 (79)
-Peterson had 65 (67)
-Besse had 69 (76)
-Kloos had 81 (103)
-Rau had 69 (81)
-Bjugstad had 60 (69)

He's not far off, and he finished with 80 total points including playoffs last year, but it helps to play 6 more games.

The question is not if CM will win Mr Hockey, but how long he will be at UM? More than 1 year?

I think he ends up doing two years at the U.

Kloos was a monster in the playoffs...... holy cow!!

Kloos was (and is ) unbelievable!

SSC might not have been quite as strong then as it is now in terms of SOS, but nevertheless it was pretty strong those years , and LVS also had many pretty good nonconference games every year. (But yes, playoffs obviously included some non competitive games where he racked up big points)

And keep in mind that Justin had two people hanging all over him every game, much like Casey now except he didn't have the size

When you look at the list of top Minnesota high school scorers over the decades (FTP has a handy one on its website), Justin still arguably holds the modern era scoring record when considering SOS. I know I think that way myself. Also, he has risen up pretty high on the all time Gopher scoring list

I wouldn't be surprised if CM is a top 5 pick he turns pro. The NHL has become so young.

He had the benefit of playing Winona in the 1AA QF....which Lakeville South won 19-0. He scored 10 points in that snoozefest.
