I'm picking page2stat in running time (+6) over the coaches this year.

I wish I shared your optimism but the coaches have gotten better the last several seasons. Still, there are going to be some huge disagreements this year.

Lee, you are essentially saying 5 of the 8 section finals are virtually a flip of a coin --one goal games too close to call ?
Of course , momentum and good coaching and captaining motivation helps most down the stretch....

Yeah, that arbitrary 1.00 difference meaning a team is a favorite may have been overstated. 0.50 or 0.75 may have been more realistic. I see a couple instances where I have major doubts about a team being a favorite. Then again, that's just what my thought process is, and might not mean anything.

These will be the teams at the X
1 LN
2 EP or HF
3 STA
4 Stillwater
5 Cent or MG
6 Edina
7 Elk River
8 Moorhead or Bemidji
Bold teams are the better bet.

Looks about right Elliott. And would be an awesome line-up if holds true. Most competitive 8 in recent memory.

Yes, those are the consensus most likely.
Not a single upset?

I don't think they can beat Bemidji and don't think they could beat Moorhead once / if they beat Bemidji. Nothing against them. Just think the only team that can knock Moorhead off is Bemidji.

Always a chance, but when I run the games in my ESP mind. No upsets.

PageStat's section summaries look reasonably accurate to me. It is too bad some sections are not competitive in that only a single school is mentioned (e.g., Hermantown in 7A). Even though we know that Hermantown will win the A tourney, I would rather watch a competitive section (3A) where any of several teams could make it. After all, sports is about competition, not slaughters.

PageStat disagrees with the higher seed in ten games (so far). This compares to only seven disagreements in the 2016 section tournaments.

PageStat picking St Louis Park over Benilde made me wince.

PageStat goes 2-1 tonight. Would have been a clean sweep, but Bemidji....

Hey, Bagley/Fosston beat Park Rapids.
Does that help?
I wonder if that is BF first ever section tournament win?

5-21 in their history in first round games. 0-4 in quarterfinals.
Didn't help, by the way. Would have been nice.

Tonight's PageStat picks against the grain:
(5) Rosemount over (4) Eagan in 3AA
(5) Pine City over (4) Princeton in 5A
(5) Anoka over (4) Champlin Park in 5AA
(5) St Louis Park over (4) Benilde-St Margarets in 6AA (ugh)
(5) Eveleth-Gilbert over (4) Virginia in 7A
(5) Crookston over (4) Detroit Lakes in 8A
Go get 'em, underdogs!

Seedings up 3-2 tonight. If Anoka hangs on to their 2-0 lead over Champlin Park, we'll be tied on the night and PageStat will cling precariously to their one game lead.
