And that is a final.
The next game should be more interesting.

The online streaming is decent to good in video quality...commentators obviously don't follow the girl's game but are trying their best

Blake finally scores with just 1:07 left in the second period to take a 1-0 lead after two periods. Good back and forth game.

Still 1-0 Northfield after two.

Northfield holds on, tallies an empty netter at the end for a 2-0 win. Very well played.

Blaine takes a 3-0 lead over Roseau after one. Roseau came out looking a little lethargic and maybe a little nervous, but got better in the second half of the period. Shots ended up even at 11-11.

It's all Blaine as they now lead Roseau 5-0 after two. Roseau with only 2 shots on net that period, Blaine with 13.

Final
Blaine 7, Roseau 1
Nice to see an over-matched Rams team get one in the closing minutes. But this one was really over in the first eight minutes of the 1st period. Blaine looked very strong throughout.

Hill-Murray with a 2-1 lead after one. Taylor Wemple has both Pioneer goals on long shots from the point. Snodgrass with a bullet wrister for Eastview.

Hill-Murray expands their lead in the 2nd period to go ahead 4-1. An unfortunate "own goal" scored by an Eastview player who I believe was trying to clear the puck behind her net, but her backhander went right into a wide opening past her surprised goaltender.

Game updates are available on
www.mngirlshockeyhub.com as well. Just in case a reader is unaware of that. During state tournament time its pretty much up to date, real time.

I've noticed that as well. They're doing a great job of staying current.
Anyway, after a scoreless first period, Hill-Murray advances with a 4-1 win. Should be a great semi vs. Blaine.

Do you think it's an issue we don't have closer quarterfinals in girl's hockey? A few years back the boys had a tournament where all 4 underdogs upset the favorite. I just can't see that happening on the ladies side as almost every quarterfinal is strongly slanted towards the top couple teams. The 4 and 5 matchup has provided some close games (Northfield last night). Just wonder whether folks wish there was more parity in the girl's game.

Some perspective -
Boys Tourney ... From 1945-2016, there have been
1,067 games played in tournament history
Girls Tourney ... From 1995-2016, there have been
358 games played in tournament history

Should we give the girls tourney 600+ more games (or even 100 more games) before trying to draw direct parallels?
