This team absolutely rolled through the Bantam AA state tournament.

Who are the 9th graders that are expected to play varsity next year? Any of them expected to be D1 players?

I've heard about Gallatin, will he play varsity as a 9th grader next year?

How many will go to Hill? If you ask the parents, they will all be varsity and should make a D1 commitment this summer!

Congratulations WBL Bantam AA on your state championship! =D> =D> \:D/

Now, as for High School. It doesn't matter, because Coach Sager will change whatever your learned up until this point and be happy with a Section Semi-final appearance. #-o

Wouldn't it be great if, just for once they would all stay at WBL and see what happens?

WBL has a strong class of 9th graders, besides Owen Gallatin (a player of the year finalist on our site).

Here are a few:

Billy Rose (great hands and feet)
Cam Berg (explosive, lotsa skill)
Sam Newpower (big body, power forward)

Gallatin is in 8th grade, but out of Bantam eligibility, will be a varsity top 4 next year. Lleyton Roed is another 8th grader who has eligibility -- a great talent.

ALL but Berg seem to be on track for WBL HS hockey. Word is he is headed the Tier 1 route.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. Assuming Newpower is Wyatt's brother?

You are correct, Sam is Wyatt's brother

Good news for the Bears! I just wish Cloquet still played your boys in high school. It was fun for sure!!!

Are you kidding me! That is awesome!!!! We played the Bears every year, but it stopped a couple years ago. This would be awesome to have the Bears of White Bear Lake back on the schedule :)))

section 4 could be epic in a couple of years with WBL and Still the top two AA Bantam teams this year for most of the year and Hill Murray is Hill Murray. HM tends to get WB and ST kids so it will be interesting to see if these groups stay in tact but HM will always find good players

HM will search near and far to bring in talent in order to stay on top of section 4. From Roseau to SSM, Edina to WI, whatever it takes.

Minnesota Hockey State Tourney champ White Bear Lake gets knocked off by #34 rated Duluth East in the first round of the VFW State Tourney in WBL today. Oddly enough, Duluth East goes 2-0-1 vs White Bear this season.

Actually 1-1-2 if you are counting OTs as ties otherwise 2-2. Then lost 2 straight at VFW. Kudos to DE they came to play against WBL.

Not really. We like to see the best and brightest on the east side come over and play for Hickory. The only small school, 600 deep, class A sized but opts up, on the east side to try and go up against the metro behemoths...

White Bear should be pretty dominate the next 4 years along with Andover and Stillwater. These 3 teams are heavy favorites of mine the next 4 years. Along with 218 hockey, of course.

A lot of White Bears' success will depend on the players they lose to private schools and what their coach can do with them.
