My rankings are based on what a team has done to this point of the season, not necessarily what they are expected to do. So with that, I encourage you to tell me who you think I left out or have ranked too high or too low. You criticize my rankings without offering your own opinion on how things should look. I would expect that you probably think Elk River should be there somewhere, however, what have they done? The only significant game they played they lost, their 3 wins were against unranked teams, so how can I rank them then? Armstrong-Cooper tied Maple Grove, a ranked team which is more than ER has done. Do I expect A-C to be there as the season moves forward, no, but for now they have earned the right to be ranked. I hope to hear back.

So to use your logic your ranking of Stillwater, STMA, & Chaska makes no sense because their body of work this season is lacking. How is beating C-E-C a quality win when they aren't in your top 20 and how is beating Breck a quality win if having 2 loses to your "ranked teams" is the best they can show on their resume.
I have seen 15 of your 20 teams below play and a team like BSM or Eastview could not hold a candle to Moorhead at this point in the season. Sometimes it helps to use the eye test when you are doing ranking and not just looking at box scores.

Your #4 team beat your #8 team 7-0 in a game where shots were 32-11 on November 24th.

First-off - thanks for giving your opinions - always fun banter - all in good fun.
Armstrong lost to Providence Academy 3-2 - who isn't ranked in Class A or even close to being ranked in Class A.. Lost 6-1 to Blaine who you don't have ranked. And overall record is 3-3-1.
BSM lost 8-1 to a team in Duluth Marshall that you don't have ranked. They lost 4-0 to a team you don't have ranked in Brainerd. And 4-3 to a team you have ranked 17. The record is 3-3. Unless they played teams #1-3 - they shouldn't be ranked - let alone 7. 8-1 isn't a 3-2 game and you have them 7

Happy, like your writing as another interesting alternative viewpoint ranking method
But, although it’s early in the season, I’m thinking Edina talent and cohesion are so far ahead of everyone else both at this point and likely for the rest of season that they are a solid number 1 without much debate no matter which ranking approach.
Don’t want to curse the Hornets , but even with the most difficult AA SOS they have at least a decent possibility of running the gauntlet this year . Of course I’ve heard a lot of opinions on this, some say unlikely and others say
better than 50/50. Should know more after Saturday night

So, my ranking is win based, the logic being that any team no matter how good you are is capable of a bad day, however, not every team even on their best day is capable of beating top teams. So I do not consider losses, wins only. I am also not concerned about the details as much as the end result as I cannot see every game played even though I see 2-3 games per week. I fully expect that early season things might look a little different than your other rankings but as more games are played the more mine will probably line up, I actually like that my rankings offer a little different look as it shows what teams are actually performing and which teams are not even if they eventually will.

C-E-C may not be in my top 20 but they are in the LPH top 20 which my rankings are based, they have not beat anybody significant to this point.

Your #2 team beat your #8 team 4-1 on December 9th. Duh.
Pretty sure I don't understand what a win-based approach means.
