Not sure as the game was in Little Falls..... I know Rosch, Westland and Strong all played some games with the Blizzard before the season and held their own against the older competition, so I was a little surprised as well.

Glad you started a thread again for this section and are posting the games and scores. 6A should be a beast again at the top and interesting to follow all season.

Little Falls received a great group of Bantams from last year. They are young with talent. The young kids know how to play. Could be a scary team to play come playoff time if they continue to improve over the course of the year.

Alexandria gets a 5-1 win over host River Lakes. Goalie Bailey Rosch improves to 3-0 and has given up two goals in the three games.

Big test for the Cardinals coming up Tuesday as they travel to take on Cathedral.

Alexandria falls in OT at Cathedral 3-2. Winning goal came with 1:42 left in OT. Heard this morning on the radio that Rosch for Alex has 38 saves on 41 shots.

It wasn't without some adversity, but the Alexandria Cardinals came back for a 5-4 win over St. Cloud Thursday night. Up next for the Cardinals is a Saturday trip to East Grand Forks.

First game I was able to watch live. Basically one player on the ice for Alex who did not play significant Varsity time last year. One injured player on bench is the only top 15 player who did not play any varsity last season. So, very experienced team. Fell down 3-1 fairly early and was able to grind away at St. Cloud for the win. Top line looked great (good to be healthy), #7 played a great game. 2nd and 3rd line are really solid with great effort. They should be able to wear a lot of teams down with their depth as they showed in this game. St. Cloud came out hot and by the 3rd period looked a bit gassed. A few silly penalties created two 5 on 3 opportunities for St. Cloud.

Good test for Little Falls today and Saturday against solid teams away from home. St. Paul Johnson today and Mound Westonka tomorrow. I wasn't there but it sounded like they got a little more than what they bargained for over at Prairie Center down 4-2 in the second before waking up and tying it at the end of the period and winning it in the third.
