Roseau scored on 3 PP to take a 3-0 lead. GR scores 3 in 40 seconds (2 shorthanded and 1 a couple seconds after) to knot it at 3. The video feed was lost so I don't know the details but Rapids got the win 4-3 despite a huge flurry at the end by the Rams. Very entertaining "old school game" between a couple of old northern rivals.

I was just thinking that if it was still a one class system, 2 or 3 of these 4 teams would probably make the tournament.

Lots of interesting results tonight. CEC’s woes continue with a 4-3 loss at Jefferson. Could they be returning home with an 0-6 start after facing Eagan tomorrow?

Warroad spanked Virginia 6-2 on the road. 7A is starting to look like a confusing mess after mighty Hermantown.

Started my weekend road trip at BIG tonight and watched Jefferson beat Cloquet 4-3. The Jags have some good fight and capitalized on some of Cloquet's penalties. The Jacks, meanwhile, have issues. Way too much individual play on offense, and very poor net-front presence. If anything, they'd regressed since I saw them last week.

So they'll probably get their first win against East next Thursday.

I think it is Hermantown and Greenway and then everyone else.

Stop, just stop. Eden Prairie wasn't very good last year, 10-15-1,and Karl loves the name on the front of the jersey more than results on the ice. Beating a team that will be a 4 or 5 seed come sections isn't a great accomplishment. No matter the section.

Do last year’s results carry over to this season? Because this year’s version of EP started out by beating CDH and tying STA, and by all accounts looking impressive in the process. Meanwhile, Holy Family and Chaska have started off poorly. I would bet that EP is much more likely to be the 2 or 3 seed in 2AA come playoff time.

As for Hermantown, they did finish in the PS top ten in 2015, 2016, 2017, including a #1 overall finish in 2016. So it isn’t like they haven’t been there in the recent past, and this year’s squad looks to be every bit as strong.
