Sounds like the Roseau/Burnsville consolation game way back when. That was a fun one to watch too.

Cretin also started their ninth grade backup, but Maguire didn't do much better when he got in.

I was at the game In defense of all of the goaltenders there was no defense played.
Game time should have been at 10:00 if you get my drift.
There were so many odd man rushes I lost count.
Each team scored a shorty.
One play Magnusson took the puck at the point skated across the zone and all of the FLAKE players just stood and watched.
On the first Cretin goal they were playing one man in wing on wing and the FLAKE d put a perfect pass right on the tape of the fore checker right in front of the net. I have not seen so many breakaways since mites on both sides. I wish more games were like this you didn't want to leave your seat.
The old Cretin coach was there and watching him was every bit as entertaining as the game I thought they were going to have to use the paddles by the look on his face. If you look at the box score Gleasons line was responsible for 10 of the 11 goals with one being an empty net. I am glad to say I was there and I bet the kids who played in this one will remember it for the rest of their lives. There will be some great stories to tell their kids.
