Things might not be going very well for Greenway on the ice but there are some great things off the ice. Coach Clafton took the team to a residence for kids with cancer (Donte Lawson’s little brother has spent time there). This is not an isolated occurrence. He has them volunteering throughout the community. I know first hand of this as he has sent the team to help run kid’s games at a local town celebration. He is a great model and the players and community are the beneficiaries.

I wish stuff like that would get promoted more by the school out to other news sources. I think Grand Rapids has their activity/athletic director post things like this on twitter to show where the various sports teams are volunteering, but I haven't seen much from other range schools. (not to say they aren't doing anything)

Kudos to Coach Clafton for doing things like this.
