sin man. your confusing the chaska football team with their hockey team. the boys from the east would feed the hawks their gloves for lunch and then some.

What is chaska thinking?

What were they thinking in planning this game? Or better yet...were they even thinking at all? I'll give it to AHA because they have always had the top level varsity team that could compete with almost anyone...but chaska...they have troubles with some of the teams in the Lake...seriously i wish the chaska arena had more seats because i would be sure to attend this slaughtering...but because i would have to stand and watch a blow-out type game its not worth the price of addmission<img src=

Why not? If Chaska is as bad as you say they are, and Mount St. Charles is as good as you say they are....well, should we not be saying what was Mount St. Charles thinking???

My point is, if you have a struggling team, but the coach feels they can handle physical play, then why not schedule with the tough teams? Nothing to lose but a game....and if by chance, even one player from Chaska comes from that game with more confidence, perhaps it's worth it. Most players like playing up and playing new and different teams....whether you are considered a top contender in the state or not. Good thing the kids remember that they love to play the game.

Holy Angels travelled east last February and beat Mt. St. Charles 3-1. They also shutout Catholic Memorial 5-0.

Buffalo and BSM are heading out East the first weekend in December to play Albany Academy and the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid. What a great opportunity for the players. <img src=

I have played and lived on the east coast. The teams you speak of - Catholic Memorial and Mt. Saint Charles are good high school teams - NOTHING MORE. They get so much publicity because they do not play anyone decent on the east coast. The true competition on the east coast lies within the prep schools. The east coast prep school teams like Taft, Avon Old Farms (Brian Leetch) Deerfield Academy, Westminster Academy (Eric Boguenicki sp?), Northfield prep, Northfield Mt. Herman just to name a few provide deeper programs than both Catholic Memorial and Mt. St. Charles. Minnesota high school hockey - (Chaska included) will be just fine against these teams.

Good to see

I’m glad to see Mount Saint Charles is traveling out to Minnesota and keeping east-midwest series thing going. It makes for some interesting games.

Unfortunately, it’s coming about 5 years too late. I agree with sickofnoknowldge21’s assessment that both MSC and Catholic Memorial are just good high school programs. Both programs have been in decline for the past 5 year or so; with many of the top local players now opting to play prep or junior instead. The EJHL has siphoned off a lot of HS and prep talent in recent years. I don’t think that either program has had a direct-to-D1 player in over four years - a long stretch for both teams. Both programs had powerhouse teams in the mid-to-late 90’s that could easily have played in the prep leagues here in the east.

As for scheduling Chaska – maybe MSC wants to come away with one win for their troubles (just kidding…no offense Chaska). Last time the Mounties traveled to MN they played AHA and SSM…so I don’t think they were looking to shy away from the tough teams. It probably has more to do with scheduling – team availability and such.

i think snugs is getting a little impatient over on the west side of town and now trying to run the table which might help with a - how do you spell stretch -a win over st. charles.

AHA has played them twice out there and once here. When MSC came here two years ago, MSC killed SSM then came up to play AHA and got killed by AHA. When MSC came to Mn and the Richfield Arena, they were one of the best teams I have come across while working at the arena. Good bunch of kids.
That monday is King day and all the schools are. I just talked to the arena manager and he is expecting a crowd in the newly refurbished Richfield Ice Palace. Get your tickets early.... I will post updates about the game here.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!
