Greenway 7, Virginia 1 final. Probably the weakest Virginia team I’ve seen in years. I don’t know if they were missing players but they struggled. Greenway has two good lines. Ben Troumbly is something. The way he has the puck on a string is fun to watch. We’ll see when they play Minnetonka on Saturday if they are a top ten team.

This game kept me amused for a while tonight, as Eveleth hung in there for two and half periods before the Hawks popped in three midway through the third to pull away. As expected, this senior-heavy Golden Bear team has some things going for it, with strong defense and a respectable top line. That said, they can't really match what Hermantown has in any department. Discipline seems to be a concern for both teams; Hermantown spent a while parading to the box (including a misconduct on Biondi), and the wheels came off a little for Eveleth late in the game. The Hawks' talent is obvious, though we'll see how they come together as this season goes along.

I hope they were at least running all 4 lines, and I would assume they switched to the 5 pass rule early on. What was the final score?

Wasn't at the game, but the box score showed 15 goals in the first 2 periods off of 40 shots on goal. They obviously took the foot off the gas in the 3rd period. Not sure what is expected in a game like that. It's embarrassing to score 4-5 more goals in the 3rd. It's disrespectful to play cat and mouse in some minds. That's just a tough situation on either side of the beat down. Now if your point is more the AA vs A thing, I understand your gripe as I agree that privates like SCC should probably be in AA. If you gripe is how they played the game, I am unsure what else they should have done??

As long as we all talk about, reward and cherish points this stuff will happen.
