Hey posters! I'm a huge hockey nut from Minneapolis and my friend referred me to these boards for some good "discussion" about hockey! My favorite teams are the Minneapolis city teams, Elk River (My Birthplace), and AHA (If I HAD to cheer for one). I have seen over 950 hockey games in my life, this season might the big 1k so I know what I'm talking about. Zamman, you a AHA student? Or a parent of a Star? I have a lot of friends who send there kids there. Nice school, my kids all went to Washburn, gave them the choice but between Washburn and AHA, but they all wanted to stay in the city. <p></p><i></i>

Heh, I'm not a huge fan of private schools in general. I always saw them as the "rich kids". I didn't have the cash to goto any worthwhile college so I got an ROTC scholarship to the U. I was then excused from duty because of health reasons. I made a pretty good life for my family. I grudingly gave my kids the option of AHA or Washburn, but they all kind of knew I wanted them to stay in the city, so they did. So that's the reason I'm not a huge fan of privates. Hill Murray plays well consistently, I respect them for that but wouldn't cheer for them. Centennial, haven't really seen enough of them to make a decision so... who knows?<br><br>-The Nut <p></p><i></i>

Well you kinda grouped them with the privates so I wasn't sure. Yea, minneapolis teams have seen better days... Oh well, I am loyal enough to stick with my hometown teams. Hopefully there will be a hockey revival in both city conferences soon. It would be nice to see a more organzied and dedicated youth system, and to have some unselfish, good players stay home and help rebuild some of the storied programs that have fallen. I mean who here wouldn't like to see the Johnson of old making the trip to the X? <p></p><i></i>
