Maple Grove vs Blake

Led by goaltender Jack Wieneke and solid backup Parker Slotsve. Scoring leaders Sam Jacobs, Tyler Oakland, Henry Nelson,
Cal Thomas and Landen Gunderson.
Coach by Todd Bergland.
Blake
Led by are junior forward Joe Miller, a Star Tribune All-Metro first-team selection, and defenseman Will Svenddal. Aksel Reid should be the tender
with GAA of 2.4 and save pct. of .904. Other scoring leaders are Jack Sabre and Gavin Best.
Coached by Rob McClanahan.
Most expect a Blake victory but Maple Grove finished the season strong and with good goaltending could be a surprise.

Jack Weineke is the MG starting goalie & made 45 saves against Blaine in the section final.

If your gonna write a preview, at least get that right
I wouldn't be surprised if either started. they have rotated most of the year. Going into sections Slotsve was the "hotter" tender, but as stated Weineke had the big performance in the section final. I would say not your traditional starter and back up tendy scenario.

I’m not hammering the other kid, I’m sure he’s an excellent goaltender. But Weineke will be the starter in the net vs Blake, that’s 100% chance.

You’ve been frighteningly accurate with your pics and calls this year. So can’t say I doubt it at this point

Well my wife would tell you I'm wrong far more often. I just see it like this. This is Blake's first time on the big stage (same as Andover). And they are both favored. And that's a hard place for the first time. I won't be at all surprised to see one of the two lose today.

Not saying Weineke won't start, my point is I don't think either can really be called the starter or the back-up.

Hardest game of the tournament is the 11 AM game on Thursday. It's hard to be on top of your game. Takes some teams half the game to get going.

Pretty even so far, Blake top line is the best line in the game but MG is probably deeper. Not sure which will win out.
