Wow, what a get for DM. Wise worked miracles at Concordia-Wisconsin. That program was dead in the water when Wise took over. He certainly knows a thing or two about rebuilding projects.

I believe the co-op starts 21-22 season, so they will need a coach for this upcoming year.

I had heard the Hibbing coach resigned, but didn't want to post a rumor. Hopefully the AD makes a better hire this time.

I had heard rumors through the winter that neither the Virginia or Eveleth coach were interested in coaching a combined team and they both planned on stepping down when that point came. Not sure what the actual reason for Virginia coach stepping down is.

Might be time for the powers that be in both towns to decide what they want the future of hockey in this area to look like going forward. Brand new arena with full workout facilities being built in Virginia that opens Fall of 2021. Great opportunity to aim high on coaching possibilities.

So the old rinks in Virginia and Eveleth used for youth hockey venues? Wow! Those are some nice venues! It makes sense to have a new rink for The Rock Ridge Wolverines too ๐Ÿ‘

Virginia has been talking about replacing their facilities for a while now... not that I agree.

Maybe then they can keep kids from leaving for you know where by having a better rink, etc.

Is North Branch getting plenty of high quality candidates for that plum position?

Theyโ€™ve been a middle of the pack AA team for most of their existence. Just for the fact that there generally arenโ€™t an abundance of Twin Cities head coaching jobs at AA programs, does that up the profile of this opening? Or is it still just a middle of the pack job?

I think it ups the profile, especially for A coaches that don't have a path to the Tourney.
