How are they looking for this year? I have only seen some captain practices at the DECC after UMD hockey practice but they seem to be a pretty solid young team, i think they will do pretty good again this year, and there schedule is pretty competitive as usual, lookinf foward to watching them this year...

I think they'll be an ok team. But they lost a lot of good players last year, and their goalie. Leis is a strong goalie but not always consistent. I'm interested to see if they pull together.

I hope they do because they are the only high school team i will be able to see a lot of this year, and it will be interesting to see them play against Moorhead and White Bear Lake as well as roseville early in December at the DECC

A junior forward on east will be stepping up, but it won't be mclean; it'll be josh turnbull along with trachsel that lead the hounds this year.

ronnyevh,
Do not forget to check out CEC's arena for some games and get up to Mars Lakeview Arena for some Marshall games as well. You will not be dissapointed in watching these two clubs (D-M and CEC) this winter right along with the Hounds. Both rinks are great venues for a hockey night in Minnesota along with 2 very entertaining clubs.

Ive had the privlage of watching Duluth East last year and this summer. They do have some very talented players but the only one so far that stands out to me as a scout and that i think could play after high school is steve bussey and mike stubenvall...as for will mclean he needs to learn how to skate before he makes it past highschool hockey.

And Downing... East will be just as exciting as the last ten years.

They usually manage to get up for their competition.

Well coached teams usually do. The loss of Fairchild will hurt...but they will be fun to watch.

Edited by: <A HREF=

Duluth East should have a well experienced team with many sophomores and juniors with Section and State playoff experience. Keegan Flagherty and Rob Johnson will be two young sophomores to watch. Traschel and Turnbull will be two strong points in the junior class. S. Bussey,B. Downing, and R. Nelson will be strong captains for the Greyhounds this year. Also, 6 out of the first 7 games will be at the DECC, playing Central first on December 1st. Should be another great season for the Hounds with Randolph in control.

My mistake i forgot to add Brian Downing's name in my last post. He is an extremley talented player and should make a huge impact next year if he decides to play juniors or at a D-III college. As for Colin Trachsel he is also a very solid defenseman as a junior and will be one of the best in the state this year along with Brian Downing. As for Turnbull he needs to get bigger to have any chance to suceed in juniors/college right now he is a good high school player but needs to bulk up if he wants to go anywhere.
