Great Podcast!

Was a little bummed no Class A Ranking but again you still need a Class A Expert to be on your show... Waiting for the big invite HA!

Just nice on winter afternoon Sunday to listen to you guys...

Man I hope my sources are wrong and we have hockey in a few weeks!!!!!! Thanks YHH Team for the great content like always!

Class A Top 5
1. Hermantown
2. East Grand Forks
3. Gentry Academy
4. Mahtomedi
5. Warroad

Others to Watch: Denfeld, Delano, St Paul Johnson, Little Falls, Dodge County

State in Class A if we have one Prediction-
1A- Dodge County over Mankato East (Liffring Coming Back been told vs Lamb)
2A- Delano over Breck (Delano is a complete Team with a great system)
3A- LDC over New Um (Look to be the top two team in a very bad Section)
4A- Gentry Academy over Mahtomedi (New Private is SCARY LOADED)
5A- Monticello over St Francis (Everyone else in 5a that didn't got robbed By Northstar Academy)
6A- Little Falls over Fergus Falls (Flyers look to be best of the bunch in a down 6A)
7A- Hermantown over Denfeld (Hermantown is going to be very good as always)
8A- East Grand Forks over Warroad (Parker and Panzer get revenge over Warriors)

Class A is growing last year it had a great field hope they play somewhere in March on a Stream!

Good listen! Just one correction: HS rosters are technically finalized Jan 1st, so well after the board mtg. Of course, when talking about cutting players from JV, that obviously happens one week after tryouts.

With exceptions for injuries and transfer situations, rosters are finalized on the 4th Monday following the official start of the season as defined in Article 511 of MSHSL Regs, not January 1st, In order to be eligible for post season play.

In this case that would be Dec 14th.

Thanks for the details on official roster deadlines. That does give teams a bit more flexibility, though yes, JV cuts will of course still happen before any games are played.

We didn't want to dive too deep into rankings or section previews, given the amount of players whose status is still up in the air (and not wanting to cannibalize our preseason show), but figured we'd throw in a AA top five as a teaser. Expect more, including plenty of Class A time, in a few weeks!

Tony, Karl, Danny

Awesome pod.

In terms of Tussey, looks like he is on the Magicians training camp roster with Roed and Liffrig, Kukkonen etc.

I'll have to check with my witness protection supervisor as to whether I’m allowed to be a podcast guest, but I appreciate the vote of confidence :D

Good news , as Andover portion of Anoka Henn reverses last weeks sports ban, a little unclear how interrelates with MDH metrics guidance

WM, the reversal applies to all schools in the AH district (Blaine, CR, CP, Anoka, And). I think they're looking to influence change in the guidance, making it more localized than the county metrics.

The "guidance" on the ranges used to dictate educational approach (e.g. in-person, hybrid, distance) was also made in July when our testing rate was approximately 1/2 of what it is today.

Thanks Old Hawk.
Some confusion about that last night . Originally I had said Anoka Henn, then I edited it back to just Andover . Original turned out correct afterall

It’s all in good fun. To borrow a phrase from the recently departed Sid Hartman, Elliott is a close personal friend.

Many big districts are in distance learning by choice but playing high school sports; Minneapolis, Rochester, and St. Paul to name 3 of the biggest. RAVE and Anoka Hennepin just add to the list. That may be the 5 biggest school districts in the state voluntarily going to distance learning. Not being forced into it, thus they can continue sports.
