Hill up 1-0 after 1. Edina may have had the better chances, but Hill gets an 'oops' goal. Hill player flicked the puck on goal from mid-ice, juicy rebound, and an Edina player sort of poked it into his own goal trying to corral the puck. Pretty even period overall.

This now, apparently, makes 10 periods since Edina has scored a goal on HM

2-0 Hill after 2 periods. Really good period for HM. Scored right away on a power play, with a pretty goal that fooled even the announcers. Edina will start the 3rd on a penalty kill. 11 periods and counting....

3-0 Hill quickly in the 3rd. HM scores on the PP. Edina going on the PP with around 12 minutes left. They need one....

FINAL: 3-0 Hill

Had most all the chances in the 3rd. Overall HM played a really solid game. That makes two shutouts in a row for HM, and 12 periods in a row where Edina hasn't scored on the Pioneers.

4 Shutouts in a row for HM over Edina. Flukey for sure, doesn't really mean anything. But fun nonetheless. Kind of like HM having the best State Tournament Record against Bloomington Jefferson all time. But Edina is a solid team this year and has a win over EP. So Hill beating them twice is a good thing. I still think HM against medium teams will be a one goal game. But Hill against the top the state has to offer, will also likely be a one goal game.

We were at Chaska HS rink for a matchup vs Chan HS. (They have a joint youth prgrm)

These 2 may have the youngest HS rosters in the state in many yrs. Chan has 7 9th, 5 10th,6 11th. Chaska has 7 10th , 9 11th.
(Anyone ever heard of younger opposing 2A rosters-Karl?)

Top scorers incl Sophs: Sam Rinzel ,Joey Parker.

Chan goalie kept it close thru 2 , then Chaska opened up and went on to win it 5-0

Note:
Chaska Chan system has also donated several of its recent top young players to other great programs around the country:
Snuggerud to NTDP
Burkholder to Ushl
Ziemer to SSM
Sawchyn to SSM
( among others)

Edina kids are not spacing out enough in offensive zone . Some times saw all 5 kids on one side of the slot as if in a squirt game.
Discipline also needed on D zone break out roles /zones.

HM by contrast very very disciplined at neutral ice and in D zone roles . And Erickson is obvi very good!

The contrast in styles across these top 8-10 teams (as it relates to discipline) are always interesting to watch unfold and Lechner teams are almost always very disciplined.
