Looks pretty grim on the Class A side. I’ll actually get a chance to watch Hill vs Benilde.

I'm very much looking forward to this game. I can't hear Benilde vs Hill without immediately thinking back to when they played each other in the championship game during the 2011-2012 season. Benilde won that game 5-1, with future Mr. Hockey and Wisconsin commit Grant Besse scoring all 5 goals for Benilde, including a remarkable 3 short-handed goals. Hill played Benilde to open their season that year - Benilde won 3-2 and I believe Besse had a hand in all of their goals in that game. He was a Pioneer killer for sure.

Incidentally, earlier that year a young Jack Jablonski was paralyzed playing in a Benilde JV game. Even as a rabid Hill fan it was hard not to feel good about Benilde winning it all, given the adversity and pain felt in their program that year. Its also great to see Jack continuing to be involved in hockey. His positivity was always infectious.

Here Here.....This was special and it was electrifying to see in person. One of the many reasons we all love this game.

I recall being kind of upset with the result. But that was me.

Any chance of free streaming on this one?

So what happens if your team gets covid the week of sections? I assume you just forfeit? It would be a hard way to lose some of the teams, but it could happen. Its unfortunate these students put the whole school at risk (which obviously can happen at any school).

I would assume so: it was happening in the football playoffs before it got cut short. What will REALLY suck is if a team wins the section and then gets it and has to shut down.

I feel its almost inevitable we see a bunch of forfeits across the winter sports during the playoffs.

I figure the bright side of this for the girls team is it will be over prior to sections. Granted more girls could come down with it and be missing from important games. But it's just this crappy year we've all had to deal with.

Orono vs Delano has been moved to next Saturday, March 6. Not sure why, as neither team appears to have any other postponements or cancellations.

After one
Warroad 1, Grand Rapids 0

Physical game so far and Warroad capitalized on PP. Rapids with some nice chances, but Orchard solid in net.

Now 2-1 Warroad
Peart rips a shot right off the faceoff on PP

Never mind
Norwegian makes it 3-1 Warroad shortly after

Never never mind
Rapids scores immediately to draw back to 3-2
Wild final period

Ridiculous, now 3-3
I can’t update these fast enough

Can't post 'em fast enough.
12-0 final, ugly score. Thank God for running time in this case.

4-3 Grand Rapids final. Great comeback win for the T-Hawks. Go get the Hawks on the 4th boys!
